The best career...and the worst.

Posted February 11, 2016 at 11:52 AM by Shalafi (View From The Tower)

Most of you know what I do for a living, and for those who don't...I am a Family Doc.

I have now been in practice for 16 years, and at my current clinic for 12. Why is this relevant. Well I have been reflecting as of late, particularly on my career, and the good and the bad.

The good: People allow me to assist them with the important things in their lives. I help them through loss, I help them through emotional and physical hardship and turmoil.

R.I.P. Alan Rickman

Such a great actor, such a loss. Whether it was the evil dude in Die Hard, or Snapes in Harry Potter, his acting was top notch. That voice, that stare, that command of the screen when he was on it.

He is the man on which I based my PC's avatar, and the man in the hearts of so many...he will be missed.

RIP Alan Rickman

I met a girl this past weekend.

"So what?" you're thinking, already clicking away from this page. What about that could possibly be interesting about that, possibly warrant me sitting down and spending some of my precious time to hack out a braggy blog post about just another typical, twenty-something weekend? We are both of us, after all, typical twenty-somethings. We check all the boxes: white, college-educated, straight.

I guess all that differentiates...

Posted August 24, 2015 at 09:16 PM by Nimh

I'm frustrated. I apologize to those who have to keep hearing about his topic but it's presently driving me insane.

Almost 4 months ago my husband and I adopted a second dog who we named Floki, a 1 year old beauty of a mutt with a happy personality--he just loved everyone he met. We adopted him after a meet and greet with our girl Georgia. It went all right. They walked great together and could stand to be directly next to each other. But there was a catch--let them off leash or really...
