In which we hear the tragic tale of a man who was granted a divine artifact and totally pissed it away!

This is Barthelme. He is pictured carrying The Needy Flail, which he acquired in this thread.

What is The Needy Flail, you ask? Mimesis described it as follows:

Next to the falchion lay a black, shiny flail. Remarkably, it looked as if it were

Designing Ikos

Time to take a little peek behind the curtain of the Working Group as it were. Because Ikos was a tough one and given there are bound to be questions and such, I figured it's good to have some whys backing the system up if not a simple thing.

Let's start at the beginning with Old Ikos. Old Ikos had a lot of interesting concepts we really liked, but the idea of a sphere that manipulated chance the way old Ikos did is difficult to moderate in any decent fashion.

All Posts Are Not Created Equal

I've been getting a lot of questions about moderating lately. First of all, I want to credit all those past and present moderators who continue to inspire me. Nearly all of my adventure 'types' are derived from their sometimes groundbreaking style of moderation.

Juan / the Creator showed that the right story, with the right scale, can be game-changing. He inspired the little 'objective boxes' that I now use to drive the story forward both IC and OOC.

Just another typical day in my home city...

So yeah, yesterday, one month into spring, we got 49cm (that's like 19 inches) of snow in one day. Drifts were 4-6 feet in some places, as the snow came with 100km/h (60 mph) winds as well...

Newfoundland, a rock stuck out in the middle of the North Atlantic...where you get winter, swinter, a week known as summer, then winter again...

My lack of posting...

Posted March 17, 2016 at 12:54 PM by Shalafi (View From The Tower)

So for those few PCs who I moderate or play with these days, you've probably nnoticed a decline in my response rate. This is in part due to my schedule in regards to my children's activities. It is also, in part, due to a decline in my muse/interest in writing right now. I am not sure the causative factor(s) behind this, but I just don't have much of a thing for it right now.

I want to emphasize that it is in NO WAY related to the posting quality of those I play with or moderate....
