2 Weeks Remaining Until Normalcy

Posted January 15, 2013 at 02:01 PM by Crimson

So I have two weeks left before Spring 2013 begins.

Some things I learned after returning as GM:
  • power posters exist!
  • anyone can be motivated to post with the right plot and encouragement (aka lootz)
  • most people are willing to power post
  • power posting can be fun if you don't take it too seriously
  • power posting can reduce the quality of the mod post
  • power posting can keep you up at night like meth

Some things I plan to explore before February:
  • mobile device-only modding (and posting) threads
  • level 1-only adventures
  • level 5-only adventures
  • if I can necro an old HDT request and get it approved by flattering the MT and pretending to be more responsible after 9 years

I am very interested in your opinions and comments regarding my new adventure patterns! Even if you just read as a lurker, I'd like to hear your suggestions or concerns!

Twas fun. And I like power posting and it def does keep you up at night.

Mobile posting is an adventure in it's self. So good luck with that.

Enjoyed our power posting plot! It is METH and the hangover is ruff in the morning but the lootz and XP is worth it.

Looking forward to doing more of this with Raff and alts

I have to say that jumping into a power posting spree was exactly what I needed to get over my writer's block.
Nothing like just having to smash through that wall with continuous high-speed posting

Well, speaking as one of your lurkers I've found your latest threads, particular [Great Mountains Chapters I and II, to be some of the most interesting reading on the boards. You had a great cast of PCs and the plot you wove for them was immensely entertaining.

I wasn't sure about posting the goals of the thread OOC at first, but as I read along with the threads the idea grew on me very quickly. It removes the ambiguity players can feel in a massive thread and I'm sure it improves the overall RP'ing since everyone has a clear idea of what's expected of them.

I also like the way you give opportunities for good and evil players to gain rep along with loot and experience while they're RP'ing in your threads. You utilize that particular mechanic very effectively.

So those are my thoughts, for what they're worth. Great plots and wonderful writing as always, but you already know I'm a fan. Pleased to see you come out of retirement, Crimson!
