Whisper is a benevolent Adventurer
Home Sweet Home (Carnine)

OOC: Continued from here.

The escort that Carnine approached was a fit young man of typical Arakmatan appearance. The nairu had deeply tanned skin, black hair drawn back into a short braid at the nape of his neck, and dark brown, almost black eyes. He had sharp features, but he gave Carnine a kind grin when the dorin approached.

"Of course I can show you to your house, sir." With Carnine's leave, the nairu would begin to lead him towards Arakmat's residential area. "What brings you to the city?"

Carnine is unknown and forgotten
As the human lead Carnine off to the residential area the dorin heard a question asked. After a moment of thought Carnine said back to the man "I come here because I had nowhere else to go. That and to maybe make something out of this name I was given... Carnine someday it will mean something. But you probably care not of a young dorins dreams. What is there to do around here and bars or such?" Carnine waits for the man to reply in some way as they walk along.

Charak nodded, speaking as they continued to walk. "You must visit The Grand Bazaar." He gestured beside them; they had been walking for some time, but they were still walking alongside the long rows of tents and carts. Bright colors, tantalizing smells, and musical sounds attracted many shoppers from the streets. "You should be able to find anything you need there.

"Of course, there are also the restaurants and cafes. The Desert Oasis Cafe is a good place to get something to eat, and many people like going to the hookah bar to relax."

By the time he had finished talking, they had reached the residential district. Charak stopped in front of a tall ivory-colored building with several windows. It was identical to three other buildings in a row except for the color--the others were dark red, orange, and gold.

Carnine listened to the human speak and nodded taking note in his mind. As they walked for awhile he found himself looking about the surroundings the tents the colors everything it was all so new to him. The dorin found himself woundering if he would eaisly find himself at home here, then brushed any doubts away knowing it would do no good to worry.

After the man finished speaking about the restaurants and such Carnine commented, "The Desert Oasis Cafe, I will have to keep that place in mind. Hookah bar can't say as I have ever been to one of those." Just about then Carnine noticed that the human had stopped walking and they were infront of a tall ivory-colored building with several windows. He looked up the way and saw that for the most part the rest of the buildings around him looked very much alike aside from the minor detail of color. Carnine found himself asking "Is this it?"

Charak looked down at the piece of paper in his hand with Carnine's address. "Yes, it is." As he led the dorin up a set of stairs and down a hallway, he continued, "This is rather nice, I must say, as far as the city's residences go. Some people have to live right next to the market, and the noise is unbearable." Carnine's building was removed enough from the apartment that there wasn't must noise that wasn't normal, but if he ever desired, he could easily visit the stalls in a few minutes.

Charak picked up a small envelope in front of the first door on the left. Inside was the deed to the apartment and the key to the door. Charak opened the door, handed the key to Carnine, and pushed the door open.

The apartment was small, but clean and cozy-looking. There was a woven gold and red rug on the wooden floor. The single room was furnished with a simple bed, a desk and chair, a wardrobe, and a set of drawers. The window opened onto a sunny view of the street and the sands beyond the city boundaries. If Carnine looked down the hall, he would see a public bathing area that was very well-kept.

"You can find homeware at one of the bazaar's stalls," Charak told him. "And you should be able to sort out any problems with the landlord." The man's contact information was on another piece of paper inside the envelope. "Anything else I can help you with, sir?"

Carnine followed Charak up the stairs and down the hallway, he listened to the man and said "Yes it seems as though it is not as loud here as it could be in other places, for that I am thankful." AS the two of them reached the door Carnine watched Charak open an envelope and produced a key from it. After the man had unlocked the door Carnine accepted the key and looked about his newly found home.

Carnine found himself quite pleased with what he saw he had not really known what to expect before the door opened. But to his surprise the apartment was furnished with the basics, bed, drawers, desk and chairs, and a wardrobe. The young dorin had never had his own home and had been expecting to have to furnish it all himself. Carnine listened to the mans comment about homewares and if he needed any more help then said, "I only have one more question other than that I think I will be fine. So are there any real groups of my kin in this city, and if so where might I find them?"

Charak thought for a moment, then said, "I see a few dorin here and there on occasion. I don't know of any definite groups, but you might do well to visit Godah. He is one of the most famous dorin, at least of those that I know. I don't know where he lives, but if you wander around the public areas of the city, you're bound to run into him at some point. He might be able to help you further."

Carnine listened to Charak intently as he spoke of the dorin called Godah, waited for him to finish and said to Charak, "Thank you for all of your help you have been very good to me." Carnine waits for the human to leave then closes his door, goes to the window. He takes a moment to pause at the window looking out before he goes about inspecting his apartment closer. Carnine looks around the place keeping an eye out for anything strange like damage to the room or something left behind from a previous tenate.
