Lyssoryl's house.
Ooc: Hopefully this is the right place to put this. If not, don't mind me, I'm new here.
************
Lyssoryl lived in a small house near the river Ioannes. The river was not actually visible from her house, which was in an odd cul-de-sac at the end of a narrow alley which was intended as a light shaft so that windows could be put on that side of the surrounding buildings. The house itself was a ramshackle affair. The most notable feature of it was that its roof was an old row boat turned upside down. Three of the walls were made of logs that had at one time floated down the river, chinked with clay. The fourth wall was the brick wall of the tenement against which the house leaned.
Lyssoryl enjoyed the privacy her home afforded her. From time to time a person new to the area would get lost and wander down the alley and provide her with company. An old unused coal chute allowed her an emergency escape route into the basement of the adjacent tenement in case the wanderer proved malevolent.
Her room was simply furnished. A simple pallet with a tanned sheep’s pelt served as a bed. A small stove was improvised out of pilfered bricks in one corner, and several crates had been cobbled together into a table and chair. As the house lacked a proper lock, a brightly painted sign hung by the door that read “Your mother would be ashamed of you!” to discourage burglars.
