Spring of Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum
Paradigm: Twelve New Constellations Discovered
It was just a half an hour after sunrise and the city was silent; it was as if the whole city was still fast asleep. Looking out on the city just below him, it was apparent that Azekial had finally reached a place to stay, although it didn't seem to be the city he was looking for. "Atleast I've finally made it to a city." Azekial said to himself as he made his way from the brush into the streets of his newly-found city.
At first glance, the town looked dead, almost abandoned. However, through further inspection as he got closer to the city's structrues and streets, it was clear that the city was neither abandoned nor dead. It was just early!
As Azekial made way through the city streets and took notice of his surroundings, he noticed the townfolk opening their stores and activity beginning to brew within the surrounding buildings...

Slika ran through the streets once again. I really shouldn't be up this early, but... The textiles that Eloise wanted were not at the shop, and she couldn't find it in the city. She had been up before midnight searching for them just becuase her room mate didn't want to go. Of course, she forgot the way back to the shop and was as tired as ever. She spotted an adult elf, and walked up to him. "Excuse me sir, but do you know any stores around here? I'm kind of lost."

It wasn't often that Usaro was awake to see the sunrise, but so enthused had he been with this city and its darkening-long parties that he had not yet been to sleep when the sun did peek over the buildings. He squinted into the light with a grin that was very much awake, despite the exertion he'd been under in the past 58 candlemarks, and took another bite of the pastry he'd bought as the first customer at the Sweet Bread. A memory of the drums and flutes of the darkening caused a spring and a little dance in his barefoot step, his head tipped with a seductive smile and a wink to everyone who looked at him oddly for it.
And then, just ahead, who would he see but a fellow Kemite and a fellow Elf! Usaro chuckled quietly to himself, thinking that he could pass himself off as their offspring if only they were a little older. Ah, nostalgia!
"Seraale!" he piped when he was within shouting distance, the pastry hanging from his mouth and a hand waving over his head, thus opening his white shirt farther and exposing his sweaty chest. Usaro laughed a little and sauntered closer to the pair, grinning as if they were all old friends.
"What are you two doing up this early, hm?" He smiled and tipped his head at them both. "I didn't see you at the party -- unless you've been to one I didn't know about! Oh, I hope there's another tonight. I'm Usaro, by the way." He grinned and extended his hand to each of them, then tipped his head in innocent curiosity.
"Well, what's the matter? You both look a little lost."

As Azekial continued to wander the streets shortly after the sunrise, he had noticed the slight breeze that had been brewing throughout the silent - yet seemingly semi-active - streets of Aelyria Prime. As he searched for a tavern that he could sit and rest at, after a long, sleepless night of walking through brush, Azekial spotted a young-looking Kemite approaching.
"Lost? Shoot, how could you get lost in such a tiny city?!" Azekial replied, hoping the young woman would catch onto his sarcasm. "Sorry miss," he continued, "I'm not exactly... from around here. But I'd be glad to help you find a place to go for now, becuase a young woman like yourself best not be wandering the city streets this early in the morn'."
As Azekial and the human spoke, Azekial noticed another presence coming torwards the two. "Serale, fine sir." he replied, without hesitation. "We were just looking for a store to visit, maybe until the rest of this city wakes up. You seem like you know this place well, care to recommend something?" Azekial continued, grinning. "And...party? What's this party you speak of, kind sir?"

Slika bowed ever so slightly. "I'm sorry for bothering you, sir. I'm just a little..." She streched and yawn. "Sleepy, sir. I did not get to sleep. I'm trying to find some gold silk for Eloise. I work at the Silk Leaf and I must be getting back." Another man, who called himself Usaro, sauntered up to them. "A party, sir? No, though we are a bit lost."
She gave the male elf a questioning look. I am going to be in trouble if I... She shook the thought off and continue to listen to what Usaro was going to say.

Usaro blinked at these responses, paused a moment, then grinned even broader.
"A shop! Of course you've been to The Sugar Tooth for some of Miss Madelyn's amazing chocolates, yeah?"
The grin faded a little as he realized that they, indeed, had not. Blasphemy! Utter ignorance and deprival!
"Well, I guess you're both coming with me, then! You haven't lived until you've tasted Miss Madelyn's chocolate caramels, and I forbid you to live a second longer without them." He draped one arm behind Azekial's shoulders and another behind Slika's neck, and thus led them with a barefoot, prancing step along the road.
"There are parties everywhere," he said to Azekial in a husky voice, tipping his head slyly toward the elf. "Drums and dancing, sweat and wine." He leaned his head toward Slika and smiled coyly as he whispered. "You just have to know where to look." He gave her a wink.

Slika nodded. "I've been to the Surgar Tooth. Mistress Kinue use to go there. I had to pick up 20 boxes. I never had carmel." Slika cocked her head when he mention that the party was everywhere. "Where? I've only been on the main road and in the building."

Wandering away from where he slept in the gardens Danerec got up early, hoping to find some sort of work in the city, and perhaps somewhere to pick up some sort of trade skill. Traveling down the road in the wee candlemarks of the morning he peered at the signs of just opening shops, looking for something that he felt he could do and that would help him in any way.
As he continued to look for Help Wanted signs in shop windows, Danerec didn't hear a discussion taking place ahead of him. So intent on his search for a job he was, that he walked right into one of the people he hadn't heard, immediately looking up and apologizing as he bounced off the elf in front of him.

Rafe wrinkled his face and cursed under his breath. Just as he had prepared to pounce a little group accumulated around his target. Why did the simplest things have to be so fething hard?
He shifted in the shadows and squinted. As best he could with inferior eyesight, he took in the details that might help him along, listened. Then with a huff he pushed away the comfort of the mossy shade and began walking in the opposite direction, outwardly paying no attention to the others as if he were hurrying about his own business, waiting..
There it was. The boy suppressed a little grin and tipped the brim of his hat, and swerved around Danerec, one hand outstretched as if to help him up, the other carefully hidden from view.
“Careful there!” He smiled, paused, then nodded to the others, avoiding looking Azekial in the eye as he stepped away with whatever loose change he’d managed to lift from the elf’s pocket.
“Pleasant brightening to you all.”

Slika was surprised at the interuption. She jumped back, only to see it was an elf. "Sir. Are you okay?" Another elf, a Theylri, stepped up, helping the older elf up. Her eyes watched him carefully. "Pleasent brightning too, sir." She automatically curtsie, not realizing she was doing so. She stood up, still watching the boy in the hat. She felt there was something wrong, but remembered the accident, and kept quiet. Still feeling quezy, she stepped behind Usaro, best thinking he should talk to this odd boy.

When presented with the older person, Danerec grew wary. I don't know these people, but I wouldn't put it past this city for muggers to travel in packs this early in the morning.
Placing one hand on the hilt of his dagger which was tucked into his belt, and the other in his pocket, his face lit with alarm. "I'm missing my pocket change!" Scanning the ground where he had just about fallen, he didn't see a coin in sight.
It was only enough to get him a piece of bread at the bakery, the rest of his money was stashed at his hidey hole, but still, losing it meant he'd either have to go hungry on his job hunt or make a trip back to his hiding place.
Watching the back of the elf that had helped him up, he realized he had just slipped something into his pocket.
"Oi! Thief!"

Usaro .... stood and stared.
Everything happened so quickly that his mind didn't quite pick up on what was going on. There were two more people -- a fellow half-kemite with a balance problem and a polite Teleris -- and someone was being accused of being a thief. Usaro's mind was on chocolate at the moment. Sweet, delectable chocolate.
He sensed that the little Kemite girl was hiding behind him, so he smiled at her and laid a reassuring hand on her head. He figured that if anyone was a thief, it was only a method of survival, and there was nothing wrong with it, really.
And so, deciding that this conversation didn't involve him, he craned his neck and smiled seductively at the newcomers, completely and blissfully unaware that anything was wrong. "Would you two like to join us for chocolate?"

Trying to memorize what the pickpocket elf looked like, Danerec returned his dagger to his belt, and turned to the person speaking to him.
"chocolate?" Danerec couldn't understand how anyone could think of chocolate when a person right in front of them had been robbed.
He then remember how, only weeks ago, he had resorted to the same method to earn his food--robbing that is. He wasn't as great at it however, which is why he was finally looking for a job.
Sighing, and taking one last wary look at the one who had pocketed his own money, Danerec asked, "Why not?"

Slika smiled. Chocolate. Smooth. Rich. Creamy. Delicate as silk... Silk? SILK! Slika jumped up and down, her smile turning into a worried look. She was making it obvious that she was panicking. The silk! What will happen when I get back! Eloise is going to be very mad! Her pale yellow hand slipped into her pocket where she kept her dagger. Gripping it tight, she let the worries slip out and into the dagger. She was hungry, so why not have a little chocolate. In the meantime..."Does anybody know where I can find a fabric store?"

Danerec shook his head. "Sorry, no."
