Searching for kin

Search begins midday, last until found or until he rests at night. First brightening of Kalendryas, Winter, Era XIV

Erik walks through town searching for his brother. He looks not pleased in the least and he quickly sheds his prized cloak as he continues onward. He only stops to look in which direction he will venture next, he replies to any attemped conversation with a short look and a low, disgruntled growl that is all but inaudible

The Winter, Eyvind liked the Winter. It reminded him of his home, of his family, of his younger brother and of all those beautiful Vagaran girls who used to jump on his lap asking for something, be it a simple kiss or something more, like asking him to train them a pet dog! Yes a pet dog! He hadn't see them without their clothes did he? No he hadn't! He used to get them their pet dogs and once he got one an owl he had found wounded in the forest. The creature ended up becoming a friend of the whole village as it used to prey upon the rats. Those nasty things ate all their grain once, if it weren't for the brave fishermen who went on to the enraged sea with a storming forming above their heads and for some hunters they would have starved to death. Luckly since the owl made its nest in the village no rat was ever seen.

Talking of rats, what has just stepped on me? A halfling? Those are my best boots! What is that stinking thing doing? Eyvind kicked the halfling who was trying to steal his boot's sole.

"What do you think you are doing? Trying to steal the soles from an Imperial Soldier are you?" Eyvind kicked the halfling again "Get you fething round and smelly bottom out of here before I decide to use your head as a dart target!"

The halfling stood from the mudd on the ground and shown Eyvind a grin, then ran to a dark halley.

"What will be of us? They try to steal my own soles under my nose... New rules should be applied, they will..."

Turning and continuing his walk Eyvind saw a familiar vult, the way it walked, the color of his hair, that man really resembled someone he knew, if he would turn Eyvind would see his face. The man walked like if he was looking for something. Alleria Prime was a large city and perhaps if Eyvind didn't say something he would never see that man again to be sure of who he was.

"Hey you! You with the cloak! Erik!" he shouted as he speeded up to move through the crowd and meet the man.

Erik stopped abruptly when a cloak was mentioned, then he turned his head at his name. The voice was familiar and he felt confident it was the target of his seach. How inadequate he must be getting at searching things out, he thought as he turned to better see the on comming figure. He waited as his brother approached, the look in his face not showing any emotion to the kin he hadnt seen in such a long time.

"Erik...what are you doing in here?" Eyvind said as he reached his brother, he was the older one but that didn't mean he was the brightest, his brother was one of kind, that was why he had left him leading the Militia back in the village, but now...now he was here.

Looks at him sternly, a look that would seem to come from an elder

"Mother sent me. She still thinks you belong at home. Why she wou-" he cuts himself off seeming to rather not continue further

"I can't return now Erik...I have things to do. Look to my uniform, I am in the Legions now and I am about to start my Officer's training..." Eyvind said. The older brother was surprised by his brother's presence in Alleria Prime, so he was about his mission.

Looks somewhat disgusted now "Why? You wish to be a legion lap dog? So you can die by thier word like father?" he says accusingly, with abit of venom behind his tone

"Don't speak that way to me Erik! I know what I am doing, I won't die. You know they won't have that chance, and you know above all that I am no lap dog." Eyvind says while placing his hand on his brother's shoulder.

"I hope you understand that what I am doing is quite important..."

His brows furrow deeply and he looks down, clenching his jaw, the muscles flexing making his jaw look more rocklike then it normally does "How would I know? You didnt say why you were leaving, or when you would be back. Mother grew heartbroken when you left. It made me understand that I could never be good enough. So now I am here because mother cant stand being without you, her oldest." He tries to push his brother's hand away and he looks up with eyes that betray both sadness and anger, for what reason...one couldnt be quite sure

Was his brother saying Eyvind was the favourite child? No way, impossible in all manners, Eyvind had been a rebell for as long as he could remember, never listening to what his parents said. He was almost killed in several occasions because of that. And he was sure his brother was mistaken. Mother had always told Eyvind to take good care of the younger one.

"What are you talking about? Not good enough? You haven't heard what mother said correctly. And when I left I said I had unfinished businesses and personnal vendettas to attend." closing to his brother "I want to revenge our father Erik..." standing back again and looking around as if someone could be listening Eyvind continued "Let us not talk about why I left in here..." Eyvind looked around once more "Let us take a walk while you tell me about your journey and about mother and the village."

He nods abit and follows his brother, he crosses his arms as he walks, the fine seal cloak drapped over his arms "You think it is easy for mother to worry that you will die? Talks of revenge and vendettas brings more worry then if you had just left." he looks at his brother and stops speaking a moment I did not come to talk about my journey or about mother and the village. I came to see if you would return so you can see it all yourself, or will you stay and let mother suffer without you....both of us, i am not going back without you. I cant stand to stand by and watch her be so sad. So, if you stay, I stay. I will help you, so that we can return faster."

"Are you mad? There are powers too powerful to be understood by you, even by me! I am not safe, I never said I would be. I am in the middle of something big my brother...something never heard or seen...when it starts it will be like a vulcanic eruption! And when it starts I want you with mother, to protect her of whatever consequences my act may cause. I don't know what may happen if I fail..."

Eyvind's eyes weren't like they were before, they were sad and his gaze seemed that of a blind man.

"My brother...return home..." he almost begged.

Erik stared at his brother with a hard , set look, one that shows he will not budge in his decision. "I am staying, I will help.We will return home , alive, afterwards."

His brother's strict voice showed he wouldn't give up on his point, so Eyvind decided to allow him to stay with him. With a nod he spoke "You can stay then and help me. I am currently studying to become an Officer, I don't really know what you could do besides joining the Legion. And I think it is something you won't be doing, or at least like doing."

He shakes his head "I wont join, but I will train elsewhere. You call for me whenever you need me. I will come as quick as I can."
