Letter to the Thane
Timestamp: Day 7 of Cycle 1 of Kalendryas. Winter, Era XI
A messenger arrived, in the early brightening, carrying a letter arrived addressed to the Thane of Acumin. It bore the wax seal of the Steward of Midpoint.
To: The Thane of Acumin. From: Alicia Tamaral, Steward of Midpoint
I am writing to introduce myself to you as the Steward of Midpoint. I am recently inaugurated and as such I am hoping to build up good relationships with our neighbours. I felt it both polite and prudent to greet you and to express to you my hope for a long and postitive association between our towns.
It is my hope that we can work together, as a province, and build on the relationships we have here. Centripax has much to offer Telath, and we have an opportunity to work to the betterment of our Empire.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours.
Alicia Tamaral
The messenger, once the message was delivered, waited to see if there was any reply.

The messenger was directed to the local Aedile's office, where they were informed that there indeed was no thane. The Aedile, being the highest government official in town, took the letter and composed a reply
Miss Steward,
On behalf of Acumin, I thank you for your message. I am Latherin Veridos, Aedile of Acumin. We have recently been attacked by the vysticchi that live in the caves below, and their accursed undead. Our village was still rife with the pox, and we were devastated. The survivors are few, but Carmelya herself saved us from total destruction.
We are in need of aid, Steward Alicia Tamaral. We have no skilled individuals to help in the rebuilding, and to train us. We expect another raid soon, and while we have the protection of Carmelya, we are afraid we could not hold off more than one-hundred attackers. Most of us are too old, or too young to survive another raid.
I am sorry that our first correspondance is so dismal,
(A signature "Latherin Veridos")

Alicia received the reply and looked at it with more than a little concern. And she decided there and then that she needed to speak to someone superior to her in the ranks in order to ascertain what she could do. For surely, something had to be done.
So she checked her diary, and wrote another letter

A second letter arrived, shortly after the first.
Serale, and greetings to all in Acumin.
Firstly, let me assure you that Captain Borlath, the head of our military here is organising aid and troops for you as I pen this. Please may I assure you that we are not prepared to stand by whilst you suffer and we will offer you what aid we can.
To this end, and in the hope of creating a more united Centripax, I wish to invite you, or your representative to Midpoint, for a meeting of all Thanes, Commanders or acting heads of state as was the tradition historically. The aim of this meeting is to discuss the situation in all cities under the auspices of Centripax.
This nature is blatently of an immediate concern, and as such I invite you to a meeting at Midpoint on Solaria, Cycle 3 of Ponutis. Please, I urge you to attend and to put forward your needs and abilities. Only if we step forward can we hope for a united Centripax.
Yours,
Alicia Tamaral
Steward of Midpoint.
