Yes. Jack admitted it to himself . . . he was scared. Scared of what could happen to him if he went to jail . . . scared of what he might become . . robbery was easy if you never got caught. But back in the Market Square, he had just about lost it. Perhaps, wandering through Abestat, would prove more successful.

Standing at 6'5, he was tall. His cloak covered his skinny-frame, so it wasn't as easy to tell just how strong he was. He was a little less than average with his muscular strenght, and skinner than average. But his height, way above average, in his mind, compensated for his other physical losses. And, of course, his intelligence was his greatest quality.

As he wandered through Abestat . . . he put his hood up, so that this late at night, it was very hard to tell who he was. And, he knew that with his 2 daggers and balanced axe he had just bought at Crosswords that day, he was armed. Not that he knew how to use them, but it was better than being unarmed. He was walking slowly, and very quietly. He had a plan this time-though no experience in theivery either, Jack had been around for 21 years, and had enough intelligence to at least, construct a plan.

He knew what his plan was; walk along the streets, and pickpocket, mug, or rob the first person he met! It was all pretty much the same thing . . but it was his job, and the only way he knew of to make money. Getting a real job was too complex! He just wanted to rob a person, or a home. Simple, right?

As he walked along, he decided that robbing a single person would be easy-but robbing a single person at night, at their home, would be even easier!

Jack was still within his thoughts when he heard a strong voice behind him, "You there! Halt and state your business!"

Jack froze, nervous as could be. Thoughts of Jail whirlled through his mind, and he stopped, and put his hands in the air quickly.

I mean no harm sir, I am taking an evening walk through the streets of Abestat. I have meant no harm, and mean not to tresspass, if that is what I'm doing, sir.

The soldiers almost couldn't contain their laughter at the site of the paniced young man with his hands in the air. As one of the younger members of the patrol held his hand to his mouth and bit upon his own finger to keep under control, the older one, who wore a corporal's badge upon his uniform spoke: "Aye, we see you don't mean any harm. Let's see your Visa." While giving Jack a moment to take out his visa the corporal continued. "Somehow, you may not have heard but earlier in the brightening Martial Law has been declared. All Citizens are to be off of the streets during the overnight. This being the first night of the law, we are authorized to choose not to arrest you, but simply escort you to your home. Now let me see that visa."

OOC: I just don't RP much here. I have my own site that I do that at. I just like to get out, thats all.

Jack gulped, and nodded. He removed his visa, and handed it over. I never heard of this Martial Law being declared . . . He mused over quietly. Why has Martial Law been declared anyways? Abestat had always seemed fairly peaceful,in my opinion, or at least, for the time I've lived here.

The corporal chuckled at Jack T's comment, "Tell us where you live and we can tell you all about it as we escourt you there."
