Learning the Ropes (Poicamel - private)
Poicamel - 18th of Optia, era X, PF
Gauf stood behind the counter and waited for Poicamel. The katta had wanted work, and he had a lot for her to do. Now all he had to do was see if she could do it

Poicamel strode into the shop as swiftly as she could. "So sorry I'm late." She said. "I'm still learning the basics of time here. Now, what is it you need me to do?"
OOC: Ok, if that post is the 18th of Optia, what's today? Is it a new month, or are we posting this as if all of this is going on during one day -- excuse me -- brightening?

Ooc:. Hi! I'm the new AGM, and I'm taking over this thread, the Time Stamp is 5 brightening after your conversation with Gauf, if you still have troubles with FT, you can Pm me or just check my signature .
Gauf, without looking at her face talked to Poicamel with harsh voice, an almost angry one.
"Well... finally you came, I was starting to think you didn't wanted the job anymore..."
Suddenly the dwarf looked up at the Katta with smile and a cherish voice.
"Let's just say this is the first lesson you have to learn!"
The dwarf walked and gave her a friendly pat in the back and started walking Poicamel to the back of the store, where there was Blades, daggers, Axes, Hammers and Maces where neatly ordered in racks, there the dwarf stopped and looked at his work.
This is the fruit of hard work we do here in the cross Swords, you my dear Lady, will have the job to deal with customers, and sell them this fine goods for them"
The dwarf walked towards the nearest rack where some axes where in stored.
The first thing you need to know, is which weapon is the one the clients are looking for... for example... well... first tell me what you know about weapons, how do you distinguish them?"
Gauf smiled at Poicamel while caressing a balanced axe.

Poicamel blushed about her lateness, but started thinking. "Well, I know that if a sword is balanced where the blade meets the hilt then it's nearly perfect; a cavalry sword generally has a much heavier hilt and a wider and longer blade, good for swinging while on horseback; a scimitar only has a blade on one side and the hilt is a different style, usually; a fancy sword can be impractical at times; the main hilts are generally those for short swords, long swords, bastard swords, and two-handed swords. I'm sorry, but I don't know much about anything else, except that they have to be just right for the owner, but not too overbalanced. Am I right?" she asked, hoping dearly that she was for not wanting to demean herself in front of Gauf.

The dwarf showed his teeth between his mustache and his beard, a broad smile that he left clearly out.
"Good, Good! Very good indeed!. You seem to know sword pretty well, I can see you have a very good perspective on weaponry, now let's see what do we do next"
Gauf pulled a crate form a corner and opened it, some weapons where inside. One of them was a long sword of about 42" long, with a long handle, another blade was about 10" and had teeth on it, a basket hilt blade standing 27", an axe with crescent axe head, a 29" hammer with spikes, an 8" curved blade and a 15" double edge sword.
"Now... let's see, I want you to put this weapons along with the others of they same kind in their respective rack, while you do that I want you to tell me the name of that weapon,. Of course, you can see the chart we have here."
He pointed to an exact copy of the sign he had in front of the counter.

"Uh..." Poicamel was at a bit of a loss. Eternally grateful for the list, she began to pick up the weapons in the order that Gauf had presented them.
"The first one is a large bastard sword," she said, putting it on the rack. "The next is a swordbreaker dagger," she put that one by the other daggers. "This one's a cutlass," she said, recognizing it fairly easily (though still consulting the chart) and put it near the bastard sword.
"Alright, this is..." She picked up the axe with the crescent head. "A war axe." Putting it away by the others, she took up the hammer. "This is a mace - no - ah... a warhammer, yes." She put that with the hammers, being as careful as possible about doing everything correctly.
She picked up the short blade admiringly. "This is either a..." the sheet came up again. "A cossack dagger or a flame dagger, though I'm pretty sure it's a cossack dagger." She put it by the swordbreaker and finally picked up the last one. "And this is a tabar." Sighing, she set it by the bastard sword and looked at Gauf. "Did I do alright?"
OOC: Do I need to capitalize the names of the weapons?

Ooc:. No problem, it was for you pc to learn that.
Gauf heard each of Poicamel's answers and nodded at here at each of those, this assistant seemed the kind of person he was looking for... so far. "Good, very good, you did a good work, this is one of the main thing you will be doing while working here, so I guess so far so good"
Gauf walked towards a desk and took out a quill and paper along with a feather for writing. "Now let's move on to money, crowns, that we will get for exchange for what we are selling... I hope you know how ad numbers... if not well... we will see later, for now do this... what is how much should I pay for a War Hammer, a Cossack dagger and a flame dagger?"
Gauf let the questions out slowly, not taking Poicamel for a fool just making sure she knew how to do this.

Oh boy, Poicamel thought as she picked up the list. "Let's see, a war hammer is 150 crowns, a Cossack dagger is 100 crowns, and a flame dagger is also 100." After a pause in which she did the mental math, she said. "You would have to pay 350 crowns in total, am I right?"
OOC: Not counting sales tax, in which case it would be 371. (just joking. )

"Good, good... very well done... Handling the Numbers seems not to be a problem for you at all... so far you have done well. Something else... If someone asks you for something that is not in the Chart go and ask me, if someone wants to do something to you just shout and I'll be there.... or simply grab a blade and rip the theft a new blow hole. So now I think you are all set to work in this place... Is your turn to ask questions...."
Gauf Stood very happy to see that Poicamel was able to handle the basics of business, since she was going to be just selling the weapons there seemed not to be a whole lot of trouble.
Ooc:. Lol!

Poicamel grinned, remembering the first time she had been provoked in Cross Swords, and didn't think she'd have trouble. "Well," she said. "My only question is, when do I start?"
OOC: I couldn't resist.

"Well, I suppose you can start tomorrow.... I suppose you don't even want to know how much I will pay you... wait a Cycle and you will see... maybe I will only pay you a Crown a cycle"
Gauf laugh out loud at that, of course that wasn't truth... but he did asked for any doubts Poicamel could have... and the payment was a doubt after all... now he wanted to see how his new employee take humor... just to see how she could take the jokes that clients may also do.
OOC:. Jay! the Cross sword just got a free assitant !

Poicamel raised an eyebrow. "Hmm, maybe I should have asked about that. Well, whatever you think is fair," she said, putting emphasis on the word and smiling...showing her teeth. She was pretty sure that Gauf had a sense of humor, so she wasn't too worried. She flexed her claws. "I was thinking something maybe a bit higher..." She retracted her claws and formally put her hands behind her back. "But I'm sure that you will make the...right decision." She winked and smiled wryly.
OOC: Free? I think not!

Gauf had thrown the last test to Poicamel, and she passed greatly, the dwarf started to laugh loudly almost breaking into tears for the laughs, regaining his since quickly he stood up and gave Poicamel a pat in the back .
"Good!, Good!... of course it will be higher! I just wanted to see your reaction... 40 crowns per cycle will be your wage... and you can start tomorrow"
Ooc: ok! all done! Unless you have more questions, now you can sell things to people at the Cross Swords and add 40 crowns every FT cycle!
