Charolette's Home

OOC: If my timestamp is wrong, I apologize
IC:

TIMESTAMP:Solaria in the first cycle of Ioannes, Era X in the Age of the Darkening

This was her first home. Her previous home for the last 17 years, had been with her parents, but now, one brightening after her 18th birthday, Charoletter finally had enough money to buy a little home of her own. It was, relativly small, but cozy. Charoletter believed it to be some of the best 5,000 crowns she had spent in her life. Not because of the home, but because of the independence she bought when she bought her home. Now, it was just Charoletter . . not her parents.

Charoletter opened the wooden door, and was a little disapointed to see her home so bare. She decided to leave the door wide open, so that she might get a little fresh air.

She first decided to cook something . . a little talent of hers that she had almost perfected with her mother. She went into the kitchen and made 3 loaves of bread, enough food to last her through the next couple of days. But she put one loaf in her basket, and decided to give it to her neighbor, as a gift.

Charolette wanted to go visit her neighbor right away . . . but decided against it. Perhaps, the neighbor might come to her, first? It might be a safer move, since you never knew who your neighbors were.

Charoletter went up to the open door, perhaps to close it slightly, but then again, decided against it. Perhaps someone should be walking by, and then Charoletter could run out to meet them. Yes, that was a better plan.

She sat down on the couch and dreamed of what her neighbors might look like . . . handsome young men . . . or excited girls, perhaps around her age, willing to talk to her about all a young lady would like to know, about living on their own. She smiled and wished desperatly for happy, peaceful neighbors. Her previous neighbors had been an elderly man, and a young man. The elderly man, was a man whom she visited often, to comfort. The young man on the other hand, usually visted her, and they were good friends. Perhaps she could make some new friends in Abestat, but that wasn't the most important thing right now.

Right now, she really needed some employment. A steady flow of crowns . . . . something she never worried about when she had been living with her parents. She looked through her little bags of crowns and reassured herself that 500 crowns was a fairly large sum . . she could live on it for a few cycles.

Morp is an upstanding Citizen
[Timestamp: Solaria, 1st of Ioannes, Summer of Era X]

Morp was taking a walk through the domicillum, nothing special, just something that he tended to do when he was tired and needed to organize his thoughts. Plus it was fun to see all the people as they went about thier lives at home - not that he was spying on them, but he was aware of what they were doing. As he walked, quietly whistling, he noticed something different. A new house. It had been empty the last time Morp had walked through the area, and now someone had moved into the area and had left the door open - a plain invitation to stop for a chat.

Walking up to the door, he knocked on the doorway and poked his head in. "Serale! Are you new to Abestat? I'm Morp, by the way, I live close to here." He stood there, waiting for the owner to show his or her face. Standing there, he looked like the average person that would be seen on the streets. Short brown hair, cleanshaven. The only thing that made him stand out was the hint of smile that made him seem to be in a wonderful mood. And the smile did not seem out of place at all, as if it were always there. Morp was wearing the blue tunic that he had bought a couple of months ago; it was still very clean and looked quite nice.

OOC: Hope I'm not bunnying about the shirt . . . but I read about it in your profile.
IC:

Charoletter ran to the door, eager to meet her first neighbor!

"Serale! Are you new to Abestat? I'm Morp, by the way, I live close to here."

Charolette smiled at the man's enthusiasim. Why, I'm not really that new to Abestat. I've lived here quite a long time with my parents . . . but never on my own. Charolette smiled. I had to save up enough of my money . . . they refused to buy me a home of my own! But, I'm glad I bought this home. Seems that not only did I buy my own home . . . but I bought my own independence and freedom from my parents! Always a good thing . . at least, I think so. Charolette returned Morp's large smile, rembering her controlling parents and being glad she was out of their home!

But, Serale Morp! My name is Charolette, but most people call me Char. Charolette was noticing his wonderful blue tunic . . it looked so nice on him! Oh, why, come in Morp, come in. Charolette opened the door a little wider and waved him on in. I just love your blue tunic Morp! Pardon me for asking, but where did you get it? Charolette walked a little inside the home, waiting to close the door once Morp walked inside as well.

OOC: A quick edit in my post, and it's no longer a bunny

IC:
"Nice to meet you, Char!" Morp said, matching her enthusiasm with some of his own. Her little story about just moving out from with her parents seemed very familiar because it was similar to what Morp had done last winter. "Good luck being on your own. I basically did the same thing six months ago, and I've never felt better."

Then he took a good look at his new neighbor. She was quite pretty, not exactly slendy, but neither was she unpleasantly rotund. She appeared cheerful and energetic, something that Morp always liked in a person. Based only one what he got from looking at her, he thought he might want to get to know Char better than just one conversation that day and then never seeing her again.

"My tunic?" Morp said, "It's nothing fancy, I bought it last month at the Busy Thimble. It's quite a nice shop, the owner is very nice, prices are good, and the quality... well you can see for yourself."

Char allowed him into the house, so Morp entered and looked at the sparse arrangements. Although there was not a lot in the house, it was still quite cozy. The couch looked inviting. "Do you mind if I sit?"

OOC: Ahhh . . . *a little bashfully . .* you didn't have to do that for me! Thanks anyways though. That was real nice of you.
IC:

Charolette smiled when Morp seemed to have done the same thing that she had, mocing out of her family's home. They seemed to have much in common, and Charolette was excited to meet someone such as Morp.

Charolette noticed him taking a good look at her, so she decided to do the same. She liked the way he looked . . . and his dress was modest, yet at the same time, somewhat stylish. She noticed herself just standing at the door, and decided to close it slightly, but not completly, so that Morp wouldn't feel trapped inside.

The Busy Thimble, oh yes, I've heard thats a very nice shop, perhaps I'll go there sometime when these clothes get worn out. she noticed Morp approaching the couch, and smiled.

"Do you mind if I sit?" Charolette smiled. Oh, no, on the contray, please do! Make yourself right at home! Charolette noticed the couch wasn't enormous . . and she thought it might be a little akward if they sat too close to each other without having a real conversation first. She shrugged, and went to go get the basket of bread near the door.

Well, Morp, you seemed to have beaten me! I was planning to visit a few neighbors soon, but I glad you came over. You see, I like to give, I know this sounds ood, a loaf of bread to my neighbors . . or anyone new I meet. It helps break the ice a little, I think. She sat down next to Morp, and handed him the loaf of bread, in the basket. I made it myself . . . I used to make dinner all the time back home . . . so it should be fairly tasty. Charolette smiled, and as she talked, obviously showing signs of a good, experienced cook.

OOC: Not at all, it's easy to do and saves you potential trouble, I'm glad I could do it

IC:
Morp thanked Char for the bread and took a small bite, surprised by how good it tasted. "Wow... this is really great bread. You weren't kidding when you said it was tasty." He said once he finished that first bite. Then, taking another one, he tore off a peice and offered it to Char, "I do feel bad simply sitting here eating, would you like a piece?"With a grin, he allowed some of his natural humor to come out. "I might just have to come back here and visit you every once in awhile... depends on how often you bake bread!"

He remembered back to when he had first been on his own and was starting to explore what he wanted out of his life and how to attain it. It was a hard thing to do, but he was greatly helped by having people to talk to that helped him decide. With this in mind, he inquired as to what Char wanted to do, hoping he would not be too intrusive. "Being on your own now, what do you think you might do? For work I mean."

Charolette laughed at his joke.

Wow, you are a funny fellow! But yes, I suppose I'll have a piece, but only because you feel bad eating alone. She thought about telling him the 2 other loaves she had at home . . but was there any point? No, of course not.

You're such a gentleman . . I'm really glad I met you. But, I suppose, as for work, I might try working at that place you said . . . oh, what was it, oh yes, the Busy Thimble. Char shrugged and smiled again. But, I'll never be able to make a shirt as nice as that. She gestured towards his shirt and smiled. But, maybe a counter job will be open . . I could surly fill that.

She realized she was looking at him alot. No like a new neighbor to a neighbor . . . but like a female looking at a handsome male. She tried to clear her mind. He didn't have too many features that made him stand out . . but for some reason she thought he was extremly handsome. She tried clearing her mind again . . but it just didn't work. He was handsome to her . . no way around it.

"The only difference between them and you is that they have had practice, if you try hard enough, you can make anything this good, or better." Morp told Char. He hated to see people say things to limit thier ability, so whenever some one did that, he would always say something like he just said to make it alright in his mind. It was an offshoot of his optimism, trying to turn the worst into the best. "If your other cooking skills are as good as your baking skills, you could work in a restaurant. Or, eventually even open a restaraunt. That would be fun to do, I've always wanted to own a business, but it's a long process and I am no where near ready." Morp began to talk about how he had gotten his job at the pawnshop and how it tied into his grand idea of being familiar with a bit of everything and eventually becoming a travelling merchant. He mentioned the interest he had in just cleaning the shelves and looking at all the junk that was at the pawnshop, and then seeing new stuff on the occasional times that it came in. He did not mean to talk about it all, the words just seemed to come out naturally, as if they were the only thing to talk about and the only thing he wanted to talk about, but also that any other subject would seem that way too.

Charolette smiled.

You work at the pawnshop? Well, then Morp, I'll be sure to swing by there some time . . and have a look. I have this theory that interesting people work at interesting places . . . so I figure the Pawnshop must be fairly interesting! She smiled and laughed a little.

But, with the Busy Thimble, I can only hope for the best. Opening a resturant would be a great idea! But, I think working at one and learning how resturants run first, would be an even better idea! Charolette somehow had gotten the idea that Morp like a person with an open mind . . willing to try new things. So she made a note to mention this.

I'm willing to try new things though . . . I've always thought of trying every job in Abestat and then choosing the one I like best! Laughing a little, she smiled and looked at him. If you want any more bread, or somehing to eat, just let me know. I love cooking . . just I rarly eat my own food, or, that is, all of it. She wondered if Morp would accept some food . . or not. Oh well, all in the spirit of fun!

OOC: Sorry for the late reply, with the end of school things have been a bit hectic

IC:

Morp chuckled at the thought of trying every single job in the entire city. It would certainly be a fun thing to do, but, alas, practicality was a problem. "Heh, that would quite fun to do, might take a lifetime to complete, but all the same, it would be fun." This 'plan' reminded him of a childhood goal that he had once had - to be knowledgeable in all areas. It took a long time for Morp to realize the impracticality of this goal, but the basic idea had always stuck with him - to never pass up a chance to learn something

"If you want any more bread, or somehing to eat, just let me know." Char offered kindly. Taking another bite of bread, Morp thought for a moment about how nice it would be to have more, but there was still half a loaf left - not even close to time to be thinking about getting more bread. Swallowing the peice, Morp gratefully said, "Thank you, but I think I'll be fine. Plenty of bread left and it still tastes great."

The thought of more bread brought Morp back to the thought of a restaurant, or, better yet, a bakery shop. "You really ought to think about opening a restaurant or a bakery. If I'm still around and have the money, I would love to help finance you - provided I get to eat some of your food," he said, finishing in a small laugh.

Charolette smiled.

I'm honoured, that you hold my food in such high regard! She smiled, and put her arm on the side of the couch, in a relaxed position. I will definently think about it . . . if my life gets too boring . . She laughed a little. But, I think I should find steady job . . . that way I'll have enough money to buy most of the supplies on my own, and then, well, we shall see. She liked the idea of running her own place, but it scared her a little.

She remebered her praticality, and why she wasn't ready for it yet; It's a huge responsiblity though! I mean, I know I can do it, if I set my mind to it, but I would like to get settled in Abestat first, and find myself a little. She looked down at Morp. She liked to see a man eat. Many didn't-it was just an ale for him, and then he'd leave! But Morp was obviously grateful for the food . . and she knew she had to tell him.

I really like to see a man eat. She smiled, revealing her little secrect, hoping he wouldn't take it as anything more than a comment, about herself. I feel more, old faishoned, but you see, with alot of the men I meet, they come over to my home, and you know what they as for? ' Oh, just an ale for me Char, then I really better get going!' But, with food, because I make it, and try to make it well, I like it when I see people eating it and enjoying it! I mean, when other people do it, it's much better, than just me telling myself that! Charolette didn't realize it herself, but Morp might have; there was only one thing that could give a woman curves like Char had: food! She obivously showed signs of eating her food, and alot of it! All though in recent years she was getting more of a heavy-type build, her curves were still growing and a bit of a belly; signs from her love of cooking.

She looked down at her 9-month pregnant belly, and hoped Morp didn't mistake it for a baby.

Quickly going back to the subject, she contiuned, but, as you can see, thats the reason why creating my own resturant, still hasn't slipped my mind. Thank you for the encouragement. She smiled up at him, and looked into his eyes.
