Adopting A Brother (Invitation By PM Only!) (Keeva, Agaenos, a Mod)
Timestamp: Optia (After The Council of The Fallen Thread has taken place and we've recovered...etc), Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era X Post Fractum
Yarrow waited patiently and with a smile. Today was no ordinary day. Today was the day she was going to adopted and adopt. Today was the day she was going to have a new brother Agaenos Phidion....
The talk had been hush hush and only three souls knew all about this event. Keeva, Agaenos and herself. Today was no ordinary day.
She waited on the edge of Memorial Park...waiting for the others to show and thought back to the times they had shared together and all that they had been through. They had become very close since they had first met...it was an amazing thing...

Brightening, Sometime in Optia, After Council of the Fallen Plot and Recovery,
Spring, Telath is in the Age of Darkening,
Era I of the Celestine Mandate,
Era III in the Tyrannical Mageocracy of Julos "The Mad"
Ten Eras Post-Fractum.
Paradigm: The Patreia. Decision of the Sky-Isle of Ikerael, and occupation of Ancient Allerians in Alleria Prime.
"... Amazing..."
That, for one particular heart-pleasing reason, was the only thing that Agaenos could really think of at the moment. This brightening was no ordinary one... It was, to be rather honest, quite... Unexplainably pleasent... As if fate had given him yet another boon. Firstly Keeva... And now, Yarrow?
Not in the same sense...
There was no way he was going to have two girlfriends! That would be just purely... Infidel!
No, no... It was something else. He now had Keeva as his dearest person in the world. Immediately next, came his second senior officer, met on that same, fateful darkening... The darkening of the End of the Year party... And through the Vysstichi rebellion they went, and even the Council of the Fallen, to which their greatest challenge yet had lain. And yet, they succeeded. Luck had decided to take a turn for the better for them, and pure radiance of Aetherian fortune smiled warmly down upon them. The somewhat queer, yet unbelievably lovely, triangular bond, which bound them together in the Material Plane was one that normal outsiders could hardly comprehend. Perhaps.
Besides them... Only his sweet-heart knew about it. No doubt she found this amusing...
Striding quietly towards the standing memory of the love shared by Keeva and him, he sighted her - just waiting outside of the Park's boundary. "Now... A good chance..."
He snuck up behind Yarrow, as quietly as he could. Being out of his military regalia, it was somewhat easier than normal to do so...
Mischevously, he cupped his hands upon her eyes.
"Guess who?"
He just realised that his voice gave himself away...
"You stupid fool!" His mind scolded him ruefully.
"Ah... Erm... Oh..." He sighed defeatedly. "I couldn't believe I gave myself away!" Rolling his eyebrows, he flung his arms out in defeat, before a warm smile enmated from his lips, smiling towards his friend... Or sister...
OOC: Hope you don't mind my... Erm, mischevous entry.

ooc: Very mischevous...
ic: Yarrow blinked as two hands covered her eyes. Her first inpulse was to jam a knife into the person's gut. Her fingers slipped down to a dagger hidden from view when suddenly...
"Guess who?" She released the dagger as she realized who it was that was behind her. He had come inches from death and he probably didn't even know... "Ah... Erm... Oh... I couldn't believe I gave myself away!" She was glad he had though...had he not...
Agaenos Phidion! You should know better...sneaking up on a poor girl! She turned to get a good look at her "brother". He was a man of 6'4" in stature, with brown hair and eyes. His noes was rather sharp...his skin was pale. He also had some nice, firm muscles. That was his outside looks. His voice and the way he speaks could be described as formal. He wasn't always formal, however. Yarrow had seen his humorous side. The one major quality about him was his loyalty and respect to friends and those he respected. He would make a good brother.

It was not often that the woman was deigned with an invitation to an affair quite as strange as this one, an event which she found mildly intriguing as she made her way along the familiar path that would lead her to Memorial Park. There was no denying the amusement she kept locked away within herself. After all, Yarrow was her dearest and most trusted friend, and Agaenos...She loved him with every last ounce of her being. the fact that the two were to unite as brother and sister was one that had initially struck her as a surprise, but now it simply delighted her, that the two people closest to her in the world were to bond in such a way as this.
As the familiar view of the Park entered her sight, an amused smile graced the young woman's face. Her gaze falling onto the forms of the two who had arrived before her, she bade her footfalls carry her over to where the others stood, near the edge of the park proper. The smile alighting her face grew in fervour as she watched Agaenos' antics, and Yarrow's subsequent response to his actions. They really did get on well, although this did not come as too much of a surprise to the young woman. Ever since they had met at the End of Year party at the base, it seemed as though no earthly nor transcendent force had managed to deter the bonds of friendship and compassion that had bound them all together in its wonderful and eloquent thrall.
A gentle laugh issued forth from her throat as she strolled over to where the two stood, folding her arms across her front, a look of mock sternness traversing her pallid features as she did so.
"Sneaking up on and affronting a senior officer, Corporal Phidion? That sort of behaviour could get you into all sorts of trouble, you know. "
Not able to maintain the look of utmost seriousness that she was striving to keep plain, an open grin split the woman's face as she moved forwards to greet her love with an affectionate cuddle, ignoring the arms that had been flung out in defeat of the apparent failure of his ploy. Turning to Yarrow, she deigned her friend with a warm smile, usually dull eyes shimmering with the feelings of mirth embedded in her heart.
"Yarrow...I'm so happy for you both! Both of you are more dear to me than anything else..."
That was incredibly true. Not knowing how such a bonding took place and was carried out, however, was something that the young soldier was unable to discern.
"So, we're all here. What happens now? I only have to watch, right?"
She really didn't know much of what was going to take place here in the Memorial Park this brightening, had not even known about this ceremonial type bonding until one of the two had deigned to tell her.

... Perhaps, he really should not do that.
Unbeknownst to him, he had nearly been stabbed by his own honourary sister (or soon-to-be, anyway) by sneaking up on her, and that would spell utter disaster. Sometimes, his blissful ignorance really did lead in him into very, very close encouters.
Their witness soon turned up. She was none other than the destined person to him in this life, and perhaps even thereafter, the one who he could not bear to be apart from. An amused and warm smile crept onto his features, as her voice, sweet and melodic to his ears, and one that, inevitably, made his heart soar even higher.
"Sneaking up on and affronting a senior officer, Corporal Phidion?"
Unfortunately for him, Yarrow would be able to see his face sweetening - another potential thing for her to tease about.
"That sort of behaviour could get you into all sorts of trouble, you know. "
Of course, she spoke truly. Normally in the military, this was one gesture he would not even think to attempt. Now, however, such an amusing wsituation truly called for it. Before he had the chance to turn around, a pair of arm had already wrapped around him to form a cozy, affectionate cuddle. He just could not resist every touch of her.
"Keevie!" He intoned enthusiastically, before turning around, and returning her cuddle with his own, as well as an additional kiss upon her cheek. All in front of Yarrow. Ah well - she was going to be his sister soon, anyway, so she would be better off quickly coping with their frequent affectionate gestures.
"Agaenos Phidion! You should know better... Sneaking up on a poor girl!"
"Sorry, dear..." He said mischievously.
Keeva spoke true. These two people were the dearest and closest to him in the entire world. Merely thinking about the experiences, the happy events that they had been through was enough to bring a jovial light to his face.
"So, we're all here. What happens now? I only have to watch, right?"
"Erm..." He was first to reply, though with an uncertain undertone. "You know, I am not too sure myself... Is there not some kind of... Ritual associated with bonding? Something... I don't know... Mixing of blood? Swearing of oaths... Erm... Is there not some sort of phrases that we need to say?"
He glanced at both of them uncertainly.

She watched thoughtfully as the two greeted each other and a smile stretched rapidly across her face. She had guessed that something was "going on" between the two, but this was the first time she had seen the "truth" for herself. She couldn't be more happy for the two...the moment was quickly gone and a new question was proposed.
How go about this? Mixing of blood sounded like a scar she wanted to avoid, but if she had to... SCARS...SINCE WHEN HAVE YOU BEEN AFRAID OF SCARS? YOU HAVE PLENTY TO SHOW FROM BATTLES AND FIGHTS AND SUCH! Yarrow tried to ignore the voice, but it was correct this time. She sighed. The voice had decided to come back again...maybe it would decided to leave again soon...hopefully soon.
I...I really don't know much about it either. I guess we have come to a wall in our plan, huh? Yarrow knew they would find away around it, but how?

Sadly, this was not a topic in which she was too well versed in. She did not have any siblings of her own, or, at least, she did not think she did, and had never entertained the notion of bonding with any other person on Telath in such a manner. These separate traits were likely to be more than enough to ensure that she would be particularly useless given the manner of this scenario. She had only come to attend this little ritual of bonding because she had been asked to by her two dearest companions, and had truly expected to be doing nothing more than merely watching them, in acting as a witness.
Regardless of that, however, she figured that the suggestions the other two had made as to how to go about the process seemed reasonable enough to her. The mixing of blood would have been the only thing she would have been able to come up with, too, the most logical plan of action her fleeting mind would have been capable of dredging up.
“I think that would probably be the best way…” She started uncertainly. She was not exactly sure about any of this herself, but then, Agaenos and Yarrow appeared to be equally as clueless as she. “I don’t think there are any kinds of set rules for how to do something like this, and the mixing of blood would be a good way of signifying you joining as brother and sister, would it not? Swearing an oath would simply make it more official, I think.”
She thought so, but she was not entirely sure. It was a fine thing, that they had all gathered here, ready to initiate the ritual and bonding, and yet none of them had the first clue of how to even start it. Still, it was not up to her to decide anything relating to what happened here this brightening. This gathering was meant for Agaenos’ and Yarrow’s benefits alone, and she was only here to simply watch and observe. The slightest of frowns passing across her brow, her grey eyes focussed on the forms of each of her companions in turn, not certain of what was to come next.

Yarrow hesitated...joining of blood and an oath. She was sure that would work. It didn't need to be "official" as long as they knew that they were brother and sister, that was all that mattered, right?
That sounds fine with me, how about you? She asked her soon-to-be brother...hopefully. She bit her lip. She could think of no away. Avoiding scars or pain was foolish is you were in the military. You'd be worrying your life away if one did that in the military. You'd be scared to step around a corner in fear a knife would come at you. You couldn't do your duties as an officer if you were forced into battle. The Gods only knew how many wounds she had gotten (tree...not including a horrible snake bite) in her time.

OOC: I'm terribly sorry about my lateness... >_<
IC;
Hmm. His sister-soon-to-be was right - they had hit a wall in their plans. Guess that was what they got for not planning it out at the first place. Ah well - with these sort of things, they could always plan as they go along. It wouldn't make much of a difference...
... And now, like his sweet-heart, Keeva, he wished he had some siblings. He had no idea how to go about initiating a ceremony, no idea what to say, to do, and absolutely no idea what the witness, in the case Keeva, would need to do. In short, he was one clueless, befuddled man. Poor Agaenos.
That method, which he initially brought up, had the approval of their witness. That's good - seeing as he could not think of anything else to do. Whilst the mixing of their own precious body fluid seemed sightly... Eldritch, when spoken to the others, it really did seem to be the best way of doing actually going about this amusing ritual. Uncertainty haunted them at this very moment... Even the two main characters of this ritual did not expect to walk into into a wall in their little event so quickly - but it faded, rapidly.
"No problem at all... Yes, I think Keeva's right, actually..." He gave a somewhat nonchalant shrug. "That would have to be the best way. Only..." He looked down at his belt, and confirmed what he was about to say, "I did not bring any of my weapons with me." The grin which stretched his face next, to say the least, was rather lame.
"If anything, though, we need a source of fire to cleanse... Whatever we need to create a small cut. The fire I could provide. Although there is another thing - do we mix the blood... Somewhere on the floor (he did not really fancied the thought of defiling the park with blood, though...)[/i] or actually... Mix the blood on our palms? Or arm?"
Wow - there were a lot of holes in their plans, were there not?
... But they will get through them, sure enough. They will.

Yarrow listened thoughtfully and then nodded...solutions and problems and more solutions... Yes... Well I think we can both provided the fire, but I can provide a dagger... With a flick of a wrist her dagger was out again, shinny and never been used, then it was gone again...flashing up her sleeve.
As for mixing the blood I don't think we need to make it too complicating...just palms together and say an oath...that should be fine, right? She bit her lip and glanced at her brother-to-be and his wife-to-be. It was getting to confusing with these to-be's added to everything!

OOC: *speeds things back up*
IC:
That was great - they could both provide the fire - Agaenos obviously could, as he was versed in the art of Elementalism. Yarrow too, for her Burning Rage spell would provide exactly what the Corporal - or the honourary-brother-soon-to-be, could do. At this very moment, though, only the sister could provide the dagger, so he decided it might be much better if she provided the weapon, and he provided that metaphysical fire. If they both insisted though... The resulting flame might just be a tad bit too big. Which shouldn't really be healthy for this sort of bonding. No, not at all...
... Especially not, when it might endanger his dear Keevie too. Therefore, only the young man in this case was going to provide the flame, conjured by Glowing Sphere. He noticed, however, the trick which the Staff-Sergeant showed, where the dagger was flicked up her wrist... And then, disappeared with skill again. That was awesome - he should learn that one someday...
"Ah, right. Then... You provide the dagger... And I could provide the heat, then. That way, we'd be all equal." He concluded smugly, with a twinking wink.
His sister-to-be was right. With so many to-be's for the three of them, it was becoming far too complicated. Fortunately, as time passed, that suffix would disappear...
He agreed. The oath didn't need to be anything complicated. "Therefore..." He said, as he started to slip into the state of Clara, "We just make it up as we go along... I think..."
... Typical.
As he started to slip into the meditative realm of Clara, under the eyes of the two dearest person to him upon Telath, he sought to see the weaves of intricate Ara flowing within around the vision of that ether-scape. Endeavouring to Focus upon the weaves, melding the oceans of elemental Ara and his own Vis, he attempted to Channel the fiery energy from within the Plane of Fire, and store the raw, scathing energy as Mana within his mind for a curt moment.
Then, endeavouring for the final steps, he would abjure the energy just in front of him, and conjure it into a small glowing sphere... It did not need to be large - no, not at all. It could be just as small as three-quarters of his palm. Yet, it had to be hot... That was for sure...

Keeva maintained her own state of quiet as she listened to those words exchanged between her love and his honourary sister-to-be. It was true that they could to-be each other to death here by way of confusion, another good reason why they should come to a concrete decision as soon as possible. She could have provided a dagger herself, although she was reluctant to. Whilst she did carry it around on her person, the weapon was not rightly hers, had been stolen from a tent during her time at the old quarantine camp. She had not even bothered to check whether or not it was real silver yet, or simply a good imitation of it. Besides, this was a ceremony between the two of them, and she did not want to get herself too involved in what was to be a special bonding between them both.
She did not have much to do, for now, besides watch rather dumbly. They had not really started yet, and so she had nothing to really witness, as such. Twirling one lock of night dark hair idly between two slender fingers, she turned her gaze to Agaenos as he began to enter clara, a light smile painted across her delicate features. It was still hard to believe that the two people she held most dear in the world would come together in such a wonderful manner. It was great boon that the one she cherished most in the world, and the greatest friend she had would, in turn, like each other enough to become honourary siblings.
Happy thoughts floating in streams along the many paths and rivers of her mind, the girl simply studied his face as he worked at the arcanic energies of ara and vis, waiting patiently for his chosen spell to become manifested in the Plane of the Material.

Yarrow nodded her head. She would be able to provide a weapon and her brother...the flames. The dagger came easily to her fingers again. She held it this time without so much as a flick of a wrist. She didn't want to show off really...
She knew her brother to be was going to have to embrace Clara. She waited a moment longer, watching. Then she began to think of what she was about to say...what king of an oath was needed?

OOC: Permission to self-determine the results approved by GM Aesha. Sorry about how late slow we are... We could move this along now.
IC:
Swathed with the ethereal tendrils of Ara, having established his contact with the elusive and wonderful realm of Arcana, he proceeded to focus upon the ocean of Ara about him, connecting with his own personal, organised Vis, he established a link with the four Planes of Elements... Though more specifically, he allowed the link to extend to the Plane of Fire, channeling out sufficient energy and storing it as his own fragments of Mana within his mind. There it laid for a moment, before he conjured the glowing sphere.
It floated in front of him, about the size of a Giant's fist... Maybe just a tad bit smaller. It was sufficient, however, and the heat given off would be good enough to heat the knife. He kept his concentration, the mental link which kept the ember roaring hot and enable his sister-to-be to cleanse the knife. Honourary sibling they would become... And the bond shared between them, to mere onlookers, might not really be understandable. What it mattered the most, however, is that the two - three - of them present knew, deep within their heart, the vibrant bond they shared.
The flame was moved closer to Yarrow. Agaenos, meanwhile, poured more concentration in. The flame became slightly smaller... But burned with a greater heat.
Somehow, the Corporal did wish Keeva to be involved in this... But as for the question of "how", even he had no idea.

Yarrow jumped as flames were brought to her attention. It wasn't like the her own spell for fire. Her's was for starting a fire in the foods or throwing at something to burn. You couldn't control it and hold it like her soon to be brother was doing. Yarrow thrust her knife into the flames. The heat would kill any bacteria that was living on the blade and cleanse it for what they were about to do.
Once the blade was cleaned she held it to her hand, ready for the pain that would come forth. Are you ready? Yarrow asked. She had never deliberately given herself a wound. She had received some in battles, but she had never gone out in search of one like this. In battle anything could happen and "scratches" were things that snuck up on you. Now she was about to give herself a "scratch". Yarrow held her breath and drew the dagger down upon her right hand...
