Home sweet home?
It was a quiet day in the Domicilium quarters of Abestat and a tall long-haired man made his way amongst the houses, searching for what seemed like hours for what would be his new home.
The young adventurer finally located the number of the house which now belonged to him. Entering the small hovel, he noticed that it was much nicer than he had expected. He had been used to sleeping outdoors and or on hard inn floors.
The man, who referred to himself as Vizharan Grimshade gazed around with new hope in his eyes. Finally, a home of his own! In lands filled with quest and opportunity, he was sure he'd make something of himself yet.
He thought about his family, and how he wished they could share this chance with him. The thought brought a tear to his eye. Suddenly remembering his promise to himself not to dwell on the past, he continued as if nothing had happened, observing every corner of the three-roomed hovel.
This would do lovely. Finally, a house of his own! But for how long? Soon he would want do depart, he reckoned. He estimated Abestat would not long hold off his insatiable thirst for adventure and battle.
But, for now, he would have to wait. He needed supplies, weapons, armour, and most of all training.
Tired from the long journey, the young swashbuckler spread out on his new bed. How good it was to have a home again at last! Ahhhh, he thought happily, I must sleep for awhile... Perhaps then I shall get to know the town better.

OOC: WARRREN!!!! you have to put a timestamp now...
Brightening 1 of Optia, Spring of Era X in the Age of the Darkening
IC: Xanta noticed a new face among the crowd, a man he didn't recognize. New people seemed to constantly be flowing into Abestat, himself among them.
"Serale," he said, approaching the man. "New here?" he asked.

Waking from his slumber, Vizharan heard steps on the path outside. Curious to who might be passing by, or perhaps interested in greeting a new neighbour, he stood up and opened the door.
As the door to his happy hovel creaked open, he noticed an elf standing at his door. Vizharan nearly jumped with surprise at the sudden arrival of the visitor.
Caught up in the moment, he had almost forgotten that the elf had spoken.
"Yes...," He said softly, "I have just arrived today.."
Remembering his manners, he extended his hand with a smile.
"Vizharan Grimshade," he stated proudly.

"Xanta'Kun," said Xanta, shaking the man's hand, "or just Xanta. I'm new here too, but it's a pretty nice city for the most part." Xanta peered into the man's house, and it was barren, except for the necessities. "I don't even have a house," he said laughing. "I'm a wanderer for right now."

"Hmm," Vizharan muttered thoughtfully, "I suppose you could call me Viz if you wish, and if you need stay I'd be glad to share my hovel with you for as long as you'd like."
Vizharan understood the elf's dilemma, countless times had he himself had to sleep outdoors or in abandoned houses among rats. Besides, he had no friends in this new strange place and could use the company. Perhaps the elf knew a bit more than him about finding employment and supplies.
He smiled generously, awaiting the elf's reply.

"Well," Xanta said, "you certainly are friendly. Already you offer me stay in your humble abode. I can't say as I'll refuse, but I may have a better offer for you. I'm in the market for a house now, and perhaps if you sold this one, we could invest in a better one to share. You like?"
Xanta thought for a second, then, "I know, follow me down to the Inn where my horse and gear are, and we can talk it over over a drink. I'll buy."

Vizharan considered the elf's offer. Perhaps this would be more suitable. Yet he had to remember money as a priority.
"I would hope to have some money left over for armour and weaponry...," he said scratching his head in thought.
"But yes I suppose I will accompany you to the inn."

"Ah, a nice-sized house will cost but 4000 crowns, 2000 each. That will leave you 3000 for whatever you wish. The Inn's this way..." he said, motioning out the door and to the right.

Vizharan considered this briefly.. Seemed like a good enough idea, he could use 3000 gold to spend on armour and training.
"Alright," he said, "Sounds like a plan."
He moved to follow Xanta to the Inn.

Xanta walked out the door into the busy city of Abestat and turned right, heading for the White Dragon Inn.

TIMESTAMP: Night, 11th of Optia, Spring of Era X
Atticus looked up at the home. Not a home he had seen before. Nope, not before. But then again, alot of homes were not familiar too Atticus.
He was wearing comfortable, loose, clothing, and they fit him easily. Which was a new sensation to his usualy tight clothing, but he figured that comfortable was better than stylish, so he was wearing large clothes to fit him.
He was also atop his horse, Abe. Sometimes, he called it buddy when he really wanted it to do something, such as run away fro thieves, but usually, he was just Abe.
"Come on Abe, lets check out a home and meet some people." He approached the home with the reins in hand. He probably should have been walking, but walking was hard on his knee, so Atticus had not excersised for many cycles. Of course, it was very unhealthy for someone as fat as him, but nevetheless, Atticus continued to gain more and more weight.
Atticus realized then, standing by the door, how hungry he was. Even though he had just had dinner, he was still ravishning. Pehaps this man had something he'd offer him to eat, or perhaps Atticus would have to visit a different friend and ask for a bite to eat. But Atticus knew he could never be so rude as to ask for food, but perhaps Atticus would be lucky, and the man would be cooking dinner.
He knocked two long, heavy knocks on the door.

Xanta was just hanging around Viz's place, nowhere else to go, and he was getting ready for bed when he heard a couple knocks on the door. Xanta approached the door and opened it to see some fat guy and a horse.
"Serale," Xanta asked. "Is there anything I can do for you?" He wasn't too trusting of strangers and figured he should figure out what this guy wanted before he just let him into a house that isn't even his.

Mid-day, 12th of Optia
Spring of Era X in the Age of the Darkening
Xanta returned back to Viz's house after another 'busy' day. He wasn' exhausted, but he didn't feel like doing anything either.
He retrieved his pipe from within his backpack by his 'bed', filled it with a bit of pipe-weed and lit up. Smoking was a very strange sensation for a Thelyri, a dry, solid-gas mixture flowing through his gills and lungs was much different than air or water. Some considered it humorous to watch Xanta smoke, as the smoke leaked out of the gill slits on the sides of his neck, making him look like a bit of an overgrown incense burner.
He headed out back to play with Kirran and Dagget and found them fighting over a piece of leather, what had previously been about a 3-foot piece of Dagget's leash; the dogs had torn it and now used it as a chew toy. Night was still very clean, having been to the stables for a clean-up only a couple brightenings ago. Xanta considered going for a ride, but they had only just gotten home, and Night would probably want to rest.
Xanta walked over to the dogs and grabbed in the middle of the leash and pulled hard, taunting the dogs into battling him for the strap. After a while they nearly pulled him over, so he let go of the leather and let them return to their duel.
Trying to think of something useful to do, Xanta went into the house and got his katana and the wetstone. He sat down on the front steps of the house, spat on the stone, and went to work sharpening his blackened sword, continually puffing his pipe.
