Returning to the GU (AGM Jedi please).

[Elbrethazar]

Elbrethazar had missed the GU in the time he had wasted before following the guild from Nexus Prime. It provided him with a mechanism for self-improvement (though he was, of course, practically perfect in every way) and also filled his days. The Sea Elf looked forward to finally receiving his 'uniform' which, he believed, had been made for him in Nexus, if not given. However, above all other things he was impatient to continue with his training; though he had practiced with his sword he had long since placed any dreams of meddling in the arcane on indefinent, probably perminant, hiatus and was finally ready to get down to the more important business of learning how to kill other creatures. In the most sneaky and underhand way possible. Although of course honourably.

Confused at his bizarre stream of thought Elbrethazar waited for what the GU operative would have to say to him and wondered where he would fit in. He was prepared to kill, but he had heard of a place on some sort of GU council; he may have missed his chance, but it was obvious to him, finally, just how young the GU had been when he first joined.

To pass the time as he waited to be told something the Theylri stood and contemplated himself, in an unusual show of introspection. He realised just how road weary he had become in his travels. He tried to sing a song of the sea under his breath, but could remember none: much time had passed since he had last set foot aboard ship and in his soul searching considered that he was something of a freak among his race. As a male, he was uncommon and he felt he was more suited to land than water, however much he pined for it.

OOC: So sorry Elbrethazar! I forgot to tell everyone I was gone for Easter I was in such a rush *nearly pops his clogs* .

IC: As the Theylri was led down many roads by the GU operative. They were soon twisting down a very windy alley which was very narrow. The small alley then gave way to a huge opening. It was basically the backway out of three seperate really old and what looked like, abandoned buildings. "In here my good Elf" said the operative as he led him into the middle building's back door. The pair were in what seemed to be an abandoned warehouse with crates upon crates on both sides of the building. They kept walking until the operative placed his hand in the air swiftly motioning for the Elf to stop.

Walking off to the right the GU member pulled out a knife from under his cloak and found a crate with unreadable gold lettering upon it. Hauling it out into the empty space on both sides of the warehouse the GU recruiter began to pry the lid open placing the knife on the half open lid, smiling to himself the GU member pulled out a package and tore it open and a finley taylored cloak of dark emerald green fell into his empty hand along with a Long Knife of Elven Steel and also a dark, brown leather belt. "Well what do ya' think? Another one of our guys nicked that lot of some important figure or something" said the man grinning. "Well that's your outfit lets head ou-" but the man broke off.

He was now listening intently. Elbrethazar, who's ears were far better then the man's didn't need to listen intently to what the noise was. "Damn thugs!" muttered the man, who grabbed his knife off the crate lid. There was the sound of a blunt metal object hitting against something making a dull: Thud. Thud, thud, thud, thud. They could now hear footsteps approaching them. A voice came from somewhere near them, the speaker was obviously drunk. Out of no where came a trio of drunk, poorly dressed men. One of them was hitting a crowbar against his hand making the gentle noise they had heard earlier. The man with the crowbar was very tall and skinny with an odd scar here and there and he was wearing a light green tunic with several holes in it and it had a long thin gash across the front as if he had been in a knife fight.

He was wearing a saggy trashed brown hat that had a large tear in the brim. He had a pretty much skinned belt and poorly made leather boots which barely reached halfway up his shins, the best piece of clothing of what he was wearing was his pants, which had just been stolen by the looks of it. He had black beady eyes and a few of his teeth were missing in the front. The second man was short and had a huge beerbelly and by the look on his face seemed totally oblivious of what was going on. Like an over grown baby really. He was wearing a dirty white shirt and brown baggy worn pants and wore the same boots as the first man but one had a hole where a large chubby toe was sticking out of.

This man had by what seemed to be a meat knife in one hand and a bottle of some hard alcohol in the other from which he was drinking out of. He had several rotten yellow teeth and a round fat face with blue eyes and he had red hair. The third man was the best dressed out of all of them. He wore a slightly worn purple tunic with no holes or tears at all and he had a slightly peeling belt with nice pants and boots both brown. He was black haired and had a skeletal look about his face and his teeth were slightly going yellow, but he looked quite handsome with his sapphire eyes. His only visible weapons were a metal pipe but he had a vicious looking ferret that was baring its teeth and hissing.

The handsome man spoke, he was the only one in the trio that was not drunk. "Well well well, strolling around in our territory?" said the man. "Yeeaaaa ssstrollin' aroun' in our terrtory eh?" said the first man. "Shut up Eric" said the third man. The fat second man who seem to have come out from oblivion and looked around. "Duuuuuh....when can we attack em' boss?" said the second man. " Now Bosley" said the third man.

They two charged. Elbrethazar and the GU memeber would have to fight them or get badly hurt.

ooc. Straight to the action. Goody. I was on holiday too, no problem.

ic. "Many thanks for the new outfit, not quite what I requested, a touch less subtle, but I think equally nice," the sea elf began, "The knife, however, if it is to go to me, would be much appreciated, but little used, as I favour the scimitar myself." So saying Elbrethazar drew his elegant right hand from within his robes, where it had been creeping as he talked. Clutched tightly in his hand and flying across his body in a shiny blur, was Elbrethazar's scimitar.

As he saw the two drunks begin to lumber towards him he hoped for a fleeting moment that the GU operative was suitabley trained, before remembering that he was a GU operative and therefore of the highest calibre. He held his sword out in front of him steadily, with strength in his arm. The blade tip pointed straight up to the throat of the first man. The Theylri chuckled to himself as he wondered wether the man would simply run into it.

As he awaited they're attack, Elbrethazar thought through a short scenario of the following fight and planned to slash as high as was necessary, to try and tare out the throats of the drunkards with the tip of his blade. The staff he had been leaning on in his left hand he lent against the wall next to him, within comfortable reach incase its spikes were needed.

Eric whom was obviously faster than Bosely was wielding his crowbar in a manner that was quite foolish. He had the tool raised above his head, ready to do a heavy downward swipe but also making his torso vulnerable to long weapons. It was quite smart to because if Elbrethazar and the GU recruiter got to close they would have their skulls cracked and would be lying on the floor bleeding. But that was to be decided. Bosely's state was laughable. He was waddling towards them as fast as he could laughing, quite oblivious. It was either a tatic to catch them off guard and make them start laughing but he was drunk and that meant he was just plain stupid. But not stupid enough to not know how to stab someone and smash a liqeur bottle over someone's head.


The third man was slowly walking forwards towards the scene, his ferret on his shoulder facing the Theylri and the GU recruiter, foam dropping from his mouth. The GU member took a look around. "Wait here!" he hissed and he dashed off to a pile of crates. Since the attacking pair were drunk they were staggering and zig zagging and running backwards all over the place so their advancment was slow. But their leader kept his pace not noticing the GU member run off to the crates but keeping his eyes fixed on Elbrethazar.

The Sea Elf could see the GU man pushing all his weight on a pyramid of crates. Their was a sound of wood smashing and splintering and cries of pain. Eric was pinned down by a crate wailing in pain, Elbrethazar could see why. A large piece of splintered wood from the cate was sticking right through his arm. Bosely was rubbing his head furiously with his free hand, as a crate had fell on him head first and stuck around his waist like a shirt. With his other hand he was stabbig at the damaged crate trying to slash it open with his knife.

The leader of the trio however, was un-harmed and was still advancing to the Theylri. He was very close by now, close enough for a swing. The man stopped. He than grinned evily at Elbrethazar. The third man was leaping and zig zagging around very quickly. This man was abnormally fast, even while wielding a heavy pipe. The Sea Elf was having trouble keeping track off him until he finally did. First thing he was back to standing in front of him than he had dashed to Elbrethazar's side and hit him square in the shoulder of his sword arm.

Still wearing the wicked grin he started dashing around again. He stopped and his Ferret leapt from his shoulder, aiming for Elbrethazar's neck, no doubt he would be trying to bite down into the main vein that ran up the Elf's neck. If the rodent succeded the consequences would be fatal.

ic. Elbrethazar immediately felt a flash of regret for his earlier cockiness, but, wincing with pain he attempted to dug and dodge both the ferret's attack and his owners. Hoping that the other two assailents would remain occupied for long enough respectively escaping from crates and dealing with the GU man, the Theylri decided to step forwards and round and slash across the back of the mans knees, hoping that he would avoid a further painful blow from the pipe as he would be out of reach.

IC: Bosely and Erick were having a hard time and were pinned down by the GU operative, whom Elbrethazar knew that if he placed his eyes of them the pair would free themselves and would attack him so he couldn't help the Theylri most, unfortunate as he was having a hard time with this strange man. The man's evil grin was now hysterical and he speed increasing. His ferret, whom was planning to bit into Elbrethazar's neck luckily missed the neck and went flying by the Elf's shoulder and landed neatly on the ground.

It immeadeately turned around and it seemed as if it was going to pounce on Elbrethazar's neck and start goring the back of the Elf's neck with those foaming teeth that it was baring ferouciously. Elbrethazar's attempt to slice the back of the man's knees was perfect except he hit lower. He was extremley lucky because the man was gaining speed very rapidly and he lost all the momentum he had generated.

Elbrethazar noticed that there was blood spilling out of the back of the man's calfs. "You'll pay for that one Elf" said the man through gritted teeth. Unexpectedly he lunged at Elbrethazar and this time very savagley hit Elbrethazar in the ribs. He felt a searing pain go up his side and felt something drop like a stone inside of him. The man had completley severed a rib out of its cage.

The man started laughing and resumed his leaping strategy but was slowed down by his wounds. Elbrethazar was able to keep track of him and his pet as well. The man lunged again but Elbrethazar was ready for it. It looked like he was going to aim for the Elf's temple this time, if he hit...well no one wanted to think about that.

The elf exhaled sharply at the blow and winced as he felt his severed rib fall within his body; he knew that it would probably not be healable as the bone would be unable to set back in place, he only hoped someone would be able to do something about it. However, after the initial momentary pain Elbrethazar's discomfort abated somewhat as he saw the man begin to sluggishly leap around him. He wished that he had hit a little harder and sethered the mans muscles.

Taking a moment to kick out at the ferret the Theylri held a brief counsel with himself as to what he should do next. Because the man was leaping around so much a thrust would inevitabely find thin air and were he to raise his blade above his head he would certainly lose another rib. Finding himself in a tight corner Elbrethazar decided to continue defending himself through the attack; having realised that his flimsy blade would have no effect upon the pipe were he to attempt to block the blow.

So decided the battered sea elf stood up straight and as he saw the pipe begin to swing towards his head he stepped a small way forwards and turned quickly to face between the oncoming blow and the man. Having done this he tried to swing his blade, the tip of which he had raised to the level of his head, down upon the arm holding the pipe.

OOC: Whoops! So sorry I thought I already posted in this thread.

IC: Elbrethazar, whom was dealing with the man's ferret at the moment, felt it land on his leg and started biting into his shin. The man, whom was aiming for a fatal blow cried out in pain once again. The man was now clenching a deep cut in his weapon arm's section where the forearm met the upper arm. "Raaaaargh!" screeched the man in anger. When he yelled the ferret increased its already rapid pace of goring Elbrethazar's leg.

He felt the added sting as the ferret's foam oozed into his wound. The Sea Elf could not help himself. It was like a reflex. He did an inaccurate blow at the ferret and the flat of his blade sent the rodent flying off his leg. The man was now in an uncontrollable fury. "How....dare...you....harm....my....pet!". Now that his arm was disabled he savagley kicked at Elbrethazar's wounded leg but when Elbrethazar hit the man's ferret with the flat of his blade, the sharp end of his point followed through, carving up his foe's leg.

The man stopped. Precious red fluid flowing freely from his wounds. His head was drooped and he weapon pointing down towards the ground, his ferret back on its paws slowly walking over to his master. He dropped his pipe and dropped to his knees. He looked back up at Elbrethazar. "You beat me fair and square, I....I....give you my life for the taking" said the man.

He lowered his head, exposing his neck ready for his be-heading."You won, my head is your trophy" said the man.

The Theylri looked at the man, in his miserable state and unusually felt a sharp pang of pity. His mind flashed back to moments earlier when the man, unprovoked, had flown at him in the street, but he felt moved at the honour that even such an unhonourable character was showing him and thought back to how he had reacted when the sea elf had hit his pet. Deep inside himself, under the layers he had built up through his life, all the pain of being an odd one out and all the desire to succeed, Elbrethazar was astounded and comforted by the loyalty a drunken thug had shown.

Rapidly this contentment turned to self disgust; he doubted he would be capable of showing such compassion and loyalty, but then, perhaps that was what he was doing now. Although he couldn't believe it, the shaken Theylri was about to show the man mercy. He turned to the other GU member, keeping one eye upon the man and said, "What do I do? Do we trade his life for the three of them to part? Should I show him mercy as he shows pride now?"

Turning back towards his prize and his victim Elbrethazar placed the back of his blade under the mans chin and lifted his head so that he could see hi face. He looked at the blood and felt the man's breathing through his sword handle. He glanced quickly around for the ferret, thinking to reunite the pair, against his better judgement. In the split second he stood waiting for the GU man's answer he thought to himself, "Am I showing weakness or mercy? Sense or foolishness?" He wished silently that the man had not been so thouroughly beaten and had simply gone down in combat, but then, would he survive the blood loss if he was let free?

OOC: So sorry for the wait!

IC: By now, Elbrethazar was in quite a sorry state, and had lost a lot of blood from the fighting, particularly from the wounds the ferret had made in his leg, but more importantly, the rib that the man had severed from the Theyri's body. The pain of the injury was almost unbearable, and even though, in the heat of battle it was something that could be ignored, the full force of the searing pain hit Elberthazer as soon as the drunken fighter surrendered.

Meanwhile, the GU operative seemed unjured, and he picked his way through the pieces of broken crates that littered the floor, past the other two, Eric and Bosley, who were still pinned down by the large, sharp splinters of wood that had resulted from the pyramid of containers the operative had knocked down earlier in the fight.

He looked at the Theyri, a slight expression of concern on his face as he regarded his companions injuries, but almost immediately his gaze fell on the defeated fighter, and stayed there as he thought, equally, about Elbrethazar's words, and what to do about the situation.

"Well, my friend, it is ultimately your decision." Even as he spoke, his eyes remained on the ringerleader of the three, a steely tinge to them, coupled with pity and even a little bit of disgust. "They may be some use to us, perhaps, but I would not deny you your... victory, of course."

ic. The Theylri felt relieved and for a brief moment tha pain that had racked his body washed away, before redoubling its attack and ending his clarity of thought. He could spare the man. And his ferret. As prepared as he had been to prove his allegiance to the GU once more by killing the drunk, or even defend his honour and so forth, he wondered whether he would have enjoyed it, or even been able to think about it. The sea elf was prepared to be cold blooded and kill the defenceless, but there was something in the drunken mans broken spirit, as proud as it had remained while offering him his neck, that had effected Elbrethazar.

Slowly, feeling a jaring, stinging, unbearable pain where his rib should have been and where it was poking strongly into his soft flesh, Elbrethazar wiped his sword ceremoniously as he could on his robe and then sheathed it. He considered removing a dart from his wrist and leaving a mark on the man's face but instead he said to the pitiful creature, "Get up, go get your weasel. Can you walk?" He looked at the man's almost sethered calf and slashed knee, he was surprised the wounds were not worse than they were, normally when a wound was taken to the back of a joint the ligament made a sound akin to that of a small explosion, or cannon fire. Turning to the GU man he said, "What do you want to do with him? Let's go somewhere. If he is to live we both need some small attention and anyway, we were on our way somewhere..."

The operative held himself with a sense of calm about him, undisturbed by the time the elf spent in thinking. In that time, he concluded that it would be a good idea to have some more operatives – at least, one more operative. His words spoken slowly, with care, as he outlined his idea to the Sea Elf. His words were low, pitched to the Elf’s ears alone. “Kill the other two… we do not need stupid drunkards. This one may be of use to us, but you are going to have to watch him. Search their bodies after you have killed them.” The onyx glittering eyes glanced to the man on his knees, exposing his neck for the taking.

Although his calf had been cut fairly badly – it was not so severe as to actually have the tendons cut, the man stood up, his face twisting in a slight grimace of pain, before fetching his poor weasel – no longer having the weapon. The other two were still trying to get out of the wooden crates as they were making a lot more racket than they could avoid to be having. Attention would be drawn, and that attention was not needed by any of them, that much was certain.

Once he had finished speaking with the Sea Elf, he stood back, glancing at the four of them – now becoming an observer of the situation.

ic. Elbrethazar was irritated at the GU man's response, but as a good operative he resolved to remain obedient; he had no idea of the standing of the man within the Guild, though he could have bet that it was lower than what had previously been offered him. With a stern look across his face the Theylri pulled the collar of his cloak higher up than usual, almost totally shrouding his face. Sombrely he walked a few steps to where he had placed his staff, and walking over to the two men, telling himself that they must have been in immense pain in their positions anyway, he raised the spikes high and left over his shoulder, as if flinging back a fishing rod before casting.

Quietly Elbrethazar approached the man who had called himself Bosely and before the man was able to do anything he brought the spiked end of his staff crashing down towards what would soon be the bloody mess of the man's head and face. Quickly he brought his staff up again and without thinking of the disgusting acts which he was committing and the blatant disobedience to the Allerian code involved, he slammed it towards the ground again and into the other drunk, Erick. He threw his staff down towards the ground behind him and knelt by the men and took a dart in each hand. Kneeling between the two men he looked straight ahead as he plunged the darts' treacherously pointed tips into the men's flesh, making sure they were dead.

He wiped the blood on their clothes and put the darts back in their place. Quietly he went to pick up his staff, noting that he would have to find some water with which to clean its bloodied end. He did not look back to see if the bodies were twitching, or even if they had died, but instead looked to the GU man, as if asking, "What next?" He banished all thoughts of how dishonourable it was to kill drunks while pinned to the ground and simply began to convince himself that it was necessary and that he hadn't really enjoyed it.

The Operative had seen the look of irritation that passed over his new recruit's face, but he did not acknowledge the irritation at all - until Elbrethazar's back was turned and then he smiled just a little bit, pleased. This was a good turn of events, as far as he was concerned when it came to testing the new recruit. He would kill, as he could tell when he heard the sickening splatter of the skull caving in beneath the heavy blows of the staff. Yes, he also understood that there would be times one would have to kill for the better of things.

The men were dead. The new recruit had dispatched of them efficiently, yet he did not enjoy the crime of which he committed. The darts stabbed into the flesh - insuring that even if there had been a last bit of breathing, they were now completely dead - no way they would be coming back to life on their own, or with the help of non-magical means.

The GU Operative gestured with his right hand - indicating the dead bodies, as the blood spilled out in a sickening pool around the bodies. "Search their bodies - remove all coins, identification, weapons, anything of value. We have a little bit more time, before their bodies are discovered. Make your search thorough." Still, he stood away from the scene - an observer, to watch how he did the job of stealing and whatnot, the dirty little deeds like that.

Hey Elb sorry for the wait I been known not to be that way. However, GU went to Abestat if you want to go there with them you can. It of course is up to you. Three PC's have taken up leadership roles. It needs seven it would be cool if you want to be the 4th leader of 7. If you want to i will explain whats going on, and give you a thread to work in. At the same time I will be still training you up. IF intereste dlet me know only requirments is that you have no other house affiliations, and that your active.

ic/ The sea elf hesitated for a moment before turning back to see the destruction he had wrought upon the bodies of the two drunks. Thinking of his cloak for a short while he decided it was unimportant as the GU should have his new one waiting for him at the head quarters. He stepped into the pool of blood with a slightly audible splashing sound, as if he had stepped into any shallow puddle, and then kneeled down before the bodies.

He looked around for a weapon and found both the crow-bar and the knife. Picking up the dead man's knife Elbrethazar set about cutting both the mens bloody pockets, to see what was contained within them and then cutting off their shirts and slitting down the legs of the trousers. He searched everywhere that he felt would not completely defile the body and leaving what he had removed on the ground for the GU man to pick up he dragged the bodies out of sight behind the remaining crates and pushed one on the other side so they were almost invisible. Then he did his best at covering the bloody mess with the broken bits of wood. All the while he was beginning to wonder what exactly they were going to do with the man he had been fighting, or what he was thinking now.
