Employee Meeting at the Bending Bow [Private|Llanst]

Ahwacu was sitting in a small room seperate from the actual shop that the building housed, which he used as an office of sorts. The elf was studying some old paperwork slightly with a frown on his face. He seemed a little unhappy at something, and he shifted in his sit uncomfortably as he tried to reason out how the situation had slipped from his mind for so long.

The office was a severely plan room, with no paintings on the walls and no rugs on the floor. Two old rickety wooden chairs stood either side of a wooden desk that Ahwacu had paid highly to much for, thanks to Forfeit. Aside from those three pieces of furniture, the room held a small cabinet that the elven shopkeep used to store files and other bits random bits of paper that came into his possession.

As he stared at the parchment in his hand once more, he waited for the arrival of Llanst, his shop clerk, to sort a couple of things over.

Llanst opened and closed the door to the shop. Inside, he found a dust covered shop, with a few misaligned weapons. The broom was in the back. He would get it. On the way to the back room, which Ahwacu used as an office, he corected a few weapons that had slipped off their shelves, pausing only briefly to observe the thick layer of grime they had built up. Llanst may be earning a pittance, but his job was one he worked hard at, and he couldn't stand seeing the shop in this state.
Llanst poked his head around the door to Ahwacu's office.
"Hey Ahwacu."
Then he noticed his concerned look, and the papers spread out over his desk, and he walked into the room.
"What's wrong?"

Ahwacu rasied his head and smiled "come in for i have been waiting , and need not worry of my complexities for you have some of your own today to take care of " Lianst slowlly made his way into the office and becomeing more aware of the parchement in Ahwacu grasp.

The elven owner of the shop looked up at Llanst entered, and gestured to the seat opposite his own with a faint smile before he said anything. He shuffled the papers he was examining whilst he waited for Llanst to make himself comfortable, and then greeted him before getting down to business.

"Serale Llanst. You are well, I assume?" Ahwacu nodded slightly at his employees question, indicating that yes, something was a little wrong.

"In a sense, Llanst, there is something wrong. Not with your work or anything" he added hastily, not wanting to give the fellow elf the wrong impression. "In fact, it's rather a mistake on my part, I think..."

He paused for a moment, wanting to confirm the information he had written down before making any decisions about it. "How much am I paying you? I mean, I just want you to confirm it for me, make sure we both have the same information."

Llanst sat slowly, but he slowly began to sense that this was not a situation he would find against him, but in his favour.
"You're paying me only 10 crowns a cycle."

The elven owner of the shop sighed a bit, and nodded at Llanst confirmed what he already knew. Glancing at the papers again, he then hesistated a bit before speaking, a little embarrassed about his mistake.

"Ah... as I thought, unfortunately. There seems to be a bit of a mix up. I am, of course, truely sorry about it. 10 crowns is hardly enough for someone to survive on. There seemed to be a bit of a mistake on your contract. So...." Ahwacu paused for a moment, then continued, "...well, I'm giving you a raise. From now on you'll be paid 30 crowns a cycle, with the potential to earn more if you ever get training in things related to the business. Of course, I'm also going to give you some back pay, a hundred crowns will suffice?"

Ahwacu waited, looking slightly nervous about what kind of reaction Llanst would have concerning his news. He wouldn't blame the elf for being angry of course, but he wasn't looking forward to it, none the less.

Llanst kept his steely look. Outwardly, he rarely let people know he cared. Inside, though, he knew that 30 crowns a cycle would be much more desirable than the measly 10 as before. On top of that, the hundred crowns could be used for a good night down at the tavern tonight. It would take his mind off recent events.
"Thankyou, Ahwacu. This is a load off my shoulders, and it seems that it's a great deal off yours."

The elf seemed pleased that Llanst hadn't been too annoyed at his rather embarrassing mistake. He nodded his head and a grateful, relieved smile appeared on his face.

"Good! Good, that's excellent. I have the backpay with me here if you want to take in now..."

Reaching into a drawer, Ahwacu pulled out four 25 crown notes and pushed them towards Llanst.

"Of course, I could just include them in next weeks pay if you don't want to take them now."

Llanst took the four notes from the table.
"It's probably better that I took them now. I'll be visiting the tavern this evening to celebrate."
Llanst turned and began to leave, but stopped just short of the door.
"You wouldn't want to join me this evening, would you? My shout."

The elf grinned at the way Llanst was obviously going to end up spending his bonus. He was tempted to join in... but had to reluctantly decline.

"Well, I'd like to, but unfortunately I've got all this paperwork to plough through. Obviously, because of that... mistake, I've got to check there's nothing else that needs changing."

He rustled some of the papers on the desk, just for emphasis.

"You have a good time though. If you're heading to the White Dragon no doubt you'll find someone to celebrate with."

Ahwacu gave Llanst a wave and a smile, before burying his head in the work on his desk again.
