A Viewing [Private|Junzo]
Janice led the elf out of the Aedile's office, and set off down the road after locking the building behind her, briefly pausing to turn the wooden plaque hanging on the door to 'closed'. Jiggling two sets of keys, she slipped them both in her pocket as she walked, making a note of the scenery, folding her arms across her body to keep out the slight winter chill. Dressed only in her blouse, the Aedile had forgotton to pick up a shawl on the way out.
After turning a corner or two and then walking down almost the length of the street, Janice turned and gesture to a building that was three from the house on the corner. It was off a stone structure, as Junzo had requested, one storey tall and the garden, was indeed, overgrown. Creepers had run up the walls of the house and various weeds and things grew haphazardly in the small patch of lawn in front of the structure. The building also had a large garden at the back, so Ioannes knows what kind of state that was in.
The building look sound though, the oak front door solid, and the two front window intact, though the shutters could have probably done with a lick of paint. The building also had a stone chimney built on the top, allowing for indoor cooking over the presumably built in fireplace.
Janice paused before going inside, allowing her customer to take in the outside of the house before being rushed into the interior.

Junzo looked about the place, but it was not much from what he expected. She had said it was overgrown, and overgrown indeed it was. But it was also an excellent opportunity for him to try and practice his druidic skills, as best as he could. After he'd gotten ride of all the weeds, he could rework the place into being a proper garden.
"Not all that bad. Of course, I am concerned with the building's construction. Shall we proceed, miss?" He smiled and nodded at the doorway.

"Yes, of course." Janice answered, fumbling for the keys she had brought with her. She placed the correct one in the lock of the door, and turned it to produce a small click.
Once the house had been unlocked, the Aedile stepped inside, beckoning Junzo into the building too. Her heeled shoes clacked slightly on the floor, which currently consisted of plain wooden floorboards. They had once been sanded and polished to a finished, but it was obvious that the property hadn't been lived in for a little while, and could use a bit of a touch up.
The room the pair of elves found themselves standing in was most probably supposed to be used as a kitchen, or general living area. A large fireplace graced the left wall of the room, the big chimney breast sticking out from the rest of the wall. The place was off a good size, and still had some basic furniture; a chunky square table had been positioned at an angle in the middle of the room, accompanied by three chairs. Various generic worksurfaces lined the far wall, and a big wooden dresser for storing cutlery and crockery was next to the fire place.
Looking up, Junzo would be able to see various beams and racks affixed to the ceiling, for storing pots and bans, and the more potent flavoured food, such as onions and garlic, so their scents did not mingle with less piquant flavoured foodstuffs.
Janice let the Trelorean elf look around before she said anything about the particular room. Another door on the wall opposite to where the pair had came in led out to the back garden.
"As you can see, this was used as a kitchen, and dining room both. As you can probably tell... the house has been vacant for a while, so there's a layer of dust that covers most things, but the furniture that's left it still of good quality and does not need replacing. The dresser should also hold basic plates and things."

Junzo looked around carefully. He was no artisan, or master of construction, but he was perceptive enough to see if there were any real flaws or damage in the building. Much to his relief, there was none. It wasn't all that aesthetically pleasant, but it was functional and serviceable. And of course, there was also the matter of the garden, overgrown as it was, in the backyard. It would suffice, with some cleaning.
"That would be most evidently obvious, madam." He replied to Janice, at her mentioning of the house's extended vacancy. The overgrown weeds outside was well enough evidence of that fact. "As for the rest, I think they can still be used. They look sturdy enough. If you can supply me with services or the contact to services to help me rehabilitate this place, I think you can consider this house sold." He looked around the place as he spoke, but settled his gaze on Janice as he finished talking.

Janice blushed a little as Junzo pointed out that she had stated the obvious where the extended vacancy of the building was concern, but quickly got over it, looking quite delighted that she had made such a quick sale. She had also come across quite a few cleaning contacts even in her so far short reign of Aedile, and nodded.
"Oh, yes, I have quite a few people who I could get in contact for you. Or I could just give you the details. I'm glad I managed to impress you so quickly."
Janice gave a brief smile, before looking around the property again.
"Well, have you really seen all you want to? Or would you prefer to look around a little more first?"

"The place is a simple enough thing. It is not like I am purchasing a mansion or anything, so I do not believe I need to have such an extended viewing of the place." He nodded slowly, as he looked around and gradually settled his gaze on Janice.
"Unless there is anything else hidden here besides a simple over-grown garden and some dusty stone rooms?" The elf looked at the aedile with a half-smile of amusment and question.

Janice was, naturally, an entirely honest person, and as such she hesistated a little at the question, taking it in a much more serious manner that Junzo had probably meant it. She rubbed the tip of a pointed ear thoughtfully and gave the building a scrutinising look as if she expected something horrible to leap out from behind the dresser at any moment.
"...Not that I know of. Admittedly it's been a few cycles since I was here last, but honestly, the biggest thing you'll probably find is a rat, and I doubt that, because the last owner had it all cleaned out before he left. I'm not entirely sure how back the garden at the back has got though. If you're particularly bothered by it I could take you out there, but if you're intending on buying regardless, I suppose there's not really much point."

"Precisely, miss." The thelyri smiled politely at Janice, and nodded at her slightly as he spoke. "Well, in that case, shall we proceed to getting the deed of sale and ownership of the property being transferred unto me?" He asked of her after a moment, taking a step towards the door and gesturing at it with a smooth sweep of his open hand. "Shall we?"

"Certainly."
Janice stepped towards the door of the property, and waited for Junzo to exit before securing the door behind her, placing the key in the lock and twisting it until a small click was heard.
Turning around, she gave the elf a smile and walked down the path, waiting for him to follow before proceeding back to the Aedile's office.
OOC: And back to the office we go, wheeee!

The thelyri gave the house one more quick look, before moving off outside to let Janice close it up again. Junzo stepped carefully over the overgrown weeds that choked the pathways as he made his way unto the street. He waited for her to finish locking up as he moved off to the street, and waited for her once again as they moved to proceed back towards the Aedile's offices.
